Bugs Bunny's the best out there, it was funny when one of my friends tricked another and the one who got tricked said "Hey, no fair. You Bugs Bunnied me!" :P I heard it was because they couldn't pay the actors, and certain people were complaining on what was being aired on Toonami. This is why I've began my own Toonami. More like.... I plan on what anime to watch, and watch them :P Sometimes it's movies, right now, it's a Ranma 1/2-athon.

You know what is even funnier, how you say that Pokemon which originated in Japan (just as Yu-Gi-Oh did and also is anime) is not anime. You should do some research before making such a claim. Like 'Avatar the Last Air Bender' is also an anime, just because it is shown on Nickelodeon doesn’t mean it is not anime. Go to any Anime fan forum/community and you will find Pokemon as well as Avatar in their forums for discussions. Anime is an animated version of a little thing called Mange, which most anime start out as first.

 

Also Anime is a drawing style which is why many anime is categorized as anime because of the drawing style used. Pick up a few Anime Drawing books and some will mention or talk about current anime (Pokemon, yugioh, Avatar, etc). My point is even if I create a "cartoon" show and it is drawn in the style of anime even though it is American it is still anime. There are hundreds of Anime and Mange created in America. So try a little research first.

The word anime comes from animation, which is obvious when you pronounce them. So its basically the japanese word for cartoon or animation. I got that from wikipedia by the way, so dont argue with me, argue with wiki. I dont care either way, i dislike anime.

 

The off-topic posts around this forum have got to stop. Do you guys even remember what this topic is about? These types of posts belong in a chatroom, which we have, so use it instead of posting on the forum. I'd rather there were no posts that type being posted. ACTUALLY, Anime is the french term for "animation" adopted by the Japanese to describe all of Japanese animation, or in other words "Japanese cartoons". Manga means "whimsical or careless drawings," Japanese comic books, and all that...

 

I got these definitions from manga and anime books that I have. Being a manga artist myself, I sometimes find these misconceptions irritating, so I just wanted to make that clear....

 

Now, on to the topic.....

 

AS has gone too far a looooong while ago, and as they say in their comments between some shows they hate anime (or dislike greatly) with minor exceptions. I just don't get why they hate well-thought out and awesomely animated shows like Code Geass and Death note when they like (and sometimes worship) shows like 12oz Mouse, Squidbillies and all those other shows that look like a 5-year-old with one eye and poor motor skills did them on flash. Those shows try so hard to have plots but it's just....NO......

 

This might sound a bit pro-anime, but when you think about it, it kind of makes sense (or not). But then again, we can always watch English dubbed Japanese versions somewhere else (most of which are better anyway).

 

Plus, isn't AS just a network for drunks anyway?
