EmilyAnnCoons 7 Report post Posted February 1, 2007 Well, it's been a while since I worked on an original idea...and I have decided to go back to the thing that made me start game making in the first place. So, here it is! Journey of Heroes: Crystals of Chaos, the Remake! Also, for those of you who know I was working on KtD...erm...well...yeah, thing about that is...I kind of stopped partway in because I had 0 ideas...I haven't had 5 years to think on KtD like I have had for this game...so...plus with en_ryu and Shadow Wolf's help, I decided to rework the whole storyline anyway...so, while I'm working on the KtD story, I'm gonna work on the CoC game. Versumi, the world. Once at peace, now at war. At one time this world was prosperous and was the greatest in its system of five planets. This was the only planet in its system that held any life. The land itself was rich with minerals and other elements. The humans of the land held grand lives, many living to be near a hundred and fifty, but the oldest human was several thousand years old, though he only appeared once in history, and afterwards, all trace of his existence had vanished, leaving him as nothing more then a legend, though the legend was very dark. However, the world held more then just humans and animals. It was a magical world, holding beasts of many kinds, including Orcs, trolls, minotaurs, elves of all shapes and sizes, shape shifters, and many other things, including the darkest race of them all, the Bat-Demons known simply as “Desmongu”. There were many grand cities in this world, each bigger then the last. From the High Elven halls, to the Dark Elf castles, to the tree homes of the Wood Elves, and many more. However, no city stood out better then the four greatest cities, Daimondo ~ the Trading Post of Legend to the East, Shandria ~ the Floating City of Wind to the North, Shilan ~ the City of Shape Shifters to the West, and Sodila ~ the City of the Water Dragon to the South. However, the best known, and most easily accessed city was Daimondo. Daimondo was a wonderful city, known as the greatest trading post in all Versumi. Daimondo was usually told in legend as "The best place to make a living." Nearly every business on the east side of the world had at the very least started there. Many stayed there, while many others spread out around the world. Daimondo was ruled by King Marcus Denias. King Marcus was considered to be one of the best kings in the world. Him and his entire ancestral line had been the kings of Daimondo for several hundred centuries, and had made Daimondo into what it was then, while he was ruling. By use of low taxes on things, he maintained a kingdom that had earned its title as the greatest of them all. Everything in Daimondo was usually peaceful, that is to say, until something happened. One night, dark clouds spread over the sky, slowly eating away at the stars above, until all that remained was darkness. Then, a bolt of black lightning shot to the ground, striking near the castle. From out of the lighting came a dark and powerful wizard. The wizard attacked the castle, and cursed everyone inside. In the end, he reached King Marcus, and stole his soul away. Afterwards, he left, and the castle changed into a Dark Tower. Monsters began to come from the tower, attacking the city and all around it. The dark clouds from above lowered, covering Daimondo, allowing no one in, and no one out. Meanwhile, on the Island of Daltros to the Southwest of the Main Continent of Jinosa, four gathered. They planned to fight against the darkness that was spreading into the world. However, they did not realize that first, they would need to fight the darkness within each other. I wanna see this game? When I get enough of it done to release one. Sweet and simple answer, no? When will this game be done? I wanna play it! Ugh...I HATE this question with a passion. Too many times I see this question on other projects, including my own. Here's my answer I always use. It will be released when it is done. You have a demo, play that. Not good enough? Well, not meaning to be rude, but you'll just have to be patient, Mr. Impatient. Yes, I can be rude if someone pisses me off. There's no screenshots! Post some! First of all, i don't listen to demands, so try asking nicely. Second of all, the game is still in production in that I am still working on the beginning of the game. As such, I have none for you to see. This sounds like fun...are you recruiting for this? I'd like to help! Yes, I am. I need some battlers, character sets, and voice actors. I DO wish to keep my art to the game...I don't want just random art someone tossed at me... Please send me the following info you would like to do.Do you want to draw one of the playables or one of the NPCs: If NPC, then anime NPC, NPC of a comic character, or enemy NPC: If PC, then which one of the above four main characters do you wish to draw: Male, female, dragon, animal (i may have some animal-human NPCs): Collectable artwork, or artwork shown during the credits (note, I MAY NOT be able to fulfill this part of the request, depends on how much I get): If possible, show me at least one image of art you have previously done: Once I have read over the info, I will send you a list of characters I would like done. This includes their current battler/character set/any image I can get a hold of for them. If you specified a PC, I will send you the battler/character set I have of them (depending on whether I get a battler for Mike or not). This is it for the FAQ for now, more questions may be added, depending.
Leon 55 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 I'm not one to read long posts, but I love the title screen, and to me, the features and story make the game. I read the features, and if your story holds up to the features, It will be something worth seeing.
EmilyAnnCoons 7 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 Thanks...I know how to work all of the systems but the summoning system...I want to do it a specific way, but I doubt RMXP will let me do it that way...
Leon 55 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 Never doubt RmXP. There is a way around everything. Trust me.
EmilyAnnCoons 7 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 Yeah, that's true...but I don't know anything about making a summoning system...I want one that can add characters to your party for only one battle, AND can also make some summons remove a character and replace them with someone else, but give the experience earned at the end to the original person, not the summon... Arkbennett 16 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 Use common events.
EmilyAnnCoons 7 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 nah...I got it figured out...I am using common events, but I'm not giving the experience to the character anymore...if you have a summon out at the end of battle, the exp goes to the summon
Arkbennett 16 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 Oh.. Well, you could've made it where the summon doesn't get the experience but the main character does.
EmilyAnnCoons 7 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 nah...I like this better, cause now the summons can level and such too.
Arkbennett 16 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 Yeah, true. Adds better features. But I'm interested in playing, so how goes the game?
EmilyAnnCoons 7 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 still in the intro...having troubles getting passed the inn scene...I want to do like in my story, but I can't, cause there's no way I could manage to do the tavern scene unless I had someone to make me cartoon cutscenes... Arkbennett 16 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 Ah, wish I could help. But art is not my strong suit. Good luck with it though.
EmilyAnnCoons 7 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 hehe, yeah...I'd need a movie script anyway...and the last one I found didn't work...
