Survivor - Haunted

Survivor - Haunted's storyline revolves around a haunted castle on the outskirts of a small forest town called Nomad Bay. A TV company plans to create a TV show about a small group of kids entering the castle and attempting to 'survive' for 3 weeks.

 

All the 'haunting' would be controlled and monitored by computers, along with hidden cammera's to see what the kids were doing. The show was accepted and auditions for the programme went from house-to-house, looking for kids to be in the show. Out of 80 kids who auditioned, 7 were picked for the show.

 

But on the first night, the camera's and computers were destroyed by an unknown entity. The castle was also locked using 7 ancient keys. You will have to allie, fight and search if you hope to make it out alive. And who will survive? All... or just you?

This sounds like a good idea for a game. I can't wait to see it in action. I'll also test any demo you release of it. Look forward to it.

If you explain what odd jobs, I might be willing to help. (Just remeber, my scheduals tied up, even with summer vacation :o )

 

Scary ghost story game! Maybe it could start off with a campfire story of the haunted chastle or something like that.

@Wyzrd; I added a small section called 'Demo Testers' and added you to it.

 

@OverlordMao; Odd Jobs are the random things that don't seem to fit into any of the areas. Is that a good enough description? Also, I like your idea about the campfire. Before they know that the effects arn't the computers, they should be having a campfire where somebody is telling a story, then there is a rustle in the bushes a shadow-like creature jumps out and takes one of the survivors.

 

They all think that its a joke until they get back to their bedroom, the door is open; covered in blood. And on the floor is his dead body :D .

Sounds good to me. I'm not much good at RMXP but I'm good at playing the games :P. lol

 

I also like the idea about the campfire and one of them being taken.

Thanks for the support, Polaudio. Probally all I need for now is a Custom Menu script (Only including Inventory, Status, Save and End Game). Would you like me sign you up as a Scripter as well?

 

Also, a short demo should be ready for testing soon.

Well, you will know more. Everybody who is signed up; this is now a discussion board. Post any ideas, sprites, ect. that is for the game. Also, if you still wish to sign up we still have some possitions available.

I was thinking of doing an event like the one in Pkmn: D/P in the Old Chateau where the player would turn and face the painting and nothing would be there but when the player turns around with their back to it then eyes would appear but we could do something else along those lines...now that I think about it, its kinda like the ghosts/boos from Mario World (they would stop when Mario was facing them but start to move when Mario's back was to them.

 

Also, the house should have some suits of armor that look like decorations and dont do anything during the first passing bys (like in a hallway) but when the player needs to go through the hallway for something else (so look for items to escape or something else) the suits come alive....or we could do a puzzle with them (pushing them around or something). Just throwing around some ideas

I like the idea to do something like the Old Chateau. I've played D/P and when I saw people in there I was pretty scared. Possibly have something like this:

 

You enter a room and see a shadow that runs off. There is also a small music box. When you try leaving the room the music box starts playing and a group of shadows start surrounding you. When they are about 1 tile from your square there is a thunderclap, a distant sceam and the shadows are gone.

 

I also like the Suits 'o' armor idea :D . Maybe have the suits walking around the hallway but when you try talking to them they all line up again and a extremely bloody body run through the halls.

.....hey Tomo.... I was thinking....which type of horror are you going for? The reaction horror (viva la Resident Evil series) or the more psychological horror (a la Silent Hill series)
