Caim Origio is a genetic scientist working in the Aebol Industries building when he unleashes a plague on the inhabitants of the planet. The plague, known as "The Sixth Plague" ("The Sixth" for short), transformed its victims into hideous creatures, with only a select few able to continue living. Caim has been infected also, but being a genetic scientist, he was able to restrict the plague to only his right arm. He is hunted down by Gabriel, an infected man who is determined to make Caim suffer for what he has done. Caim, however, insists he was framed, and vows to uncover the trail of lies and deciet to prove his innocence.

Background:

 

Caim is a single man that lives his life like any other citizen. That is, until he unleashes "The Sixth" on the planet. Since then, he lives on the run, often hiding himself from society in order to minimize the risk of being caught. His past is definitely one to talk about, as his mother was misdiagnosed with an illness that cost her life. Caim never fully recovered from the trauma, even though his father tried to cheer him up. When Caim reached since high school, he became interested in genetics. He graduated at the top of his class, and went onto college where he recieved his Ph. D in genetics and engineering.

Background:

 

Ceres is a former member of the governing body of her hometown, before the disease spread to her town. Since she was in a goverment position at a young age, she was often seen as a naive child who couldn't really provide any useful ideas. When the 6th came through, she was transformed from a bright, young woman to an enraged salvage, who is furious at the fact that she was driven from her position. Ceres tried to piece everything together, but in the end found that Caim couldn't be responsible for the spreading of the disease. She decides to seek him out.

Jurgen Denke

 

Age: 32 yrs. old

Height: 6' 3"

Weight: 221 lbs.

Hair Color: Black

Eye Color: Brown

 

Background:

 

Jurgen was a convicted serial killer when “The Sixth” came around. Thanks to him being consumed by it, he became unstable and escaped the prison. Jurgen was imprisoned as a 19 year old for beating a man to death. The judge gave him 25 years in prison. As a child, he was put in various martial arts schools by his parents as a way to discipline him and control his anger. When Jurgen heard whispers of a man who had suppressed the disease, he sought to seek him out, and force him to cope.

(All features are 100% ingame unless otherwise noted)

  • Minimal Characters - This game has only three characters! Yup, only 3!! That means you, the player has less to worry about! But it also means no changing party, and no backup team!! Think wisely!
  • Heavily edited RTAB System - Instead of a normal RTAB system, I have modded it to my specifications!
  • AP System - No more lame level up = new skill. Now you gain AP in addition! Use it to equip the techs YOU want!!
  • Tech Leveling - No more obsolete skills! Use them more, and they will get better!!
  • Edge Tech System - Unleash your character's rage through an Edge Tech! But beware, there are drawbacks!! Edge Techs can level up too!!
  • Dynamic Battlestatus - Each battlestatus changes color with its surroundings! Battling in the forest? It's green! Near the water? It changes to blue!
  • Command Breaks - Enemies can hinder your ability to use a command! Use this time to heal with other characters or just wait it out!
  • ***Character Abilities - Each character has certain abilities that make them unique! You'll have to play the game to find out what they can do!
  • World Map - A grand map, with more than 30 areas to explore, battle, and adventure in!!
  • And much, much more!!

***This is a WIP. It'll be completely finished when I get the other 2 character's abilities finished, but Caim's are 100% done.

yeah...not much of a futuristic game person either...I prefer medieval...but it sounds interesting, and some of your systems look pretty cool.

Looks interesting from what I played. Which isn't alot because we don't get alot to play. Only thing I really have a problem with is the fact that the mini map shows exactly how much you already can see for yourself on the screen. So there is really no purpose in having it than.

@ryan - Yeah. I think its possible. I haven't looked for a new minimap script in awhile, so maybe it's already been done.

 

@Wyzyrd - I forgot to mention this, but if you press the ALT button, you get a full screen map. And I'll try and make it so you can only see a 20 x 15 section at a time.

 

@Ark - Thanks. I'm constantly improving the CMS, so you'll see it go through some changes. And I've already worked on story up to the end of the real demo (meaning story included), so it should be out soon. I just wanted people to taste what I done up until now.

Ight cool I'll give it another run through when I get back home today after school. But it does deffinetly look good. I liked the battle system to reminded me of RMK3. And the tileset is nice I kept wondering where you got it from. lol Can't wait for the next demo.

EDIT:

 

There's an error with the auto-font install script. It tries to access the data folder, but since I encrypted the project, the data folder is not there. Just install the fonts manually. To do this, follow these steps:

 

1) Go to Control Panel

2) Click on the Fonts folder.

3) Drag all the contents of my projects Font folder into the other one.

 

It should work after that.

I've been really busy, but for a taste of what has been updated, here's what's been done:

  • Completely finished the intro scenes and dialogue (only testing remains)
  • Finished battlesystem revamp (revamped menu layout; now battlestatus window changes colors with battleback)
  • Fully complete CMS (all scene backgrounds are completely handmade by me)
  • Game plays in a widescreen format for more cinematic flair
  • Fully incorporated Tech Leveling system into KGC_SkillCPSystem (it didn't show the tech levels in the Activate Scene)
  • Completely remade dynamic title screen
  • Limit Beak menu completely implemented (you can now switch your gain type)
  • New logo (look at my sig)
  • and more!!!

The chapter 1 demo should be out in about 2 weeks. Work has me all tangled up, but trust me, I'm working on it!!

This looks like a great project. Sounds like you have worked on this a lot. I like they way you made your first post, with the images, it makes the topic more interesting. And those concepts look amazing. This is the first time I've seen this project, looks like its been here a couple of months.

Thanks man. It's been here a little while. Just to let you know, that demo is very outdated. I'm going to be adding a demo within 3 days. Promise. Work has me tied down, as well as parties, nephew's first b-day, etc...But for now, a little update. I've frankensprited some Pokemon trainer sprites to make visual representations of the three characters. They don't look exactly like the concept art, but I think they look pretty good. Tell me what you guys think.

I also this at the bottom of RMXP Underground. 5 out of 5 stars. You don't see that everyday. That reminds me, I need a downloads manager. Anyway, I would like to play this up-to-date version...looks like we have a pro game on our hands...

Looks pretty damn good man. I love the map. The title screen and game over screens are nice. One thing I noticed a problem with is when you talk to the officer looking dude on the left. When he talks to you it cuts some of what he says off on the sides.

 

Another thing is in the Credit and Extra Notepad Doc. you need to change the address for this site.
