DBZ RPG(Is it possible!?)

Recommended Posts

I recently been thinking on working on Dragon Ball Z stuff(Graphic Resources, Project etc) and I was wondering could DBZ ever been a RPG? And if so, would it be boring or a understatement. Therefore I want the opions of any and everyone on wheter it's a good idea. :( :( :(

This was my first project on RPG Maker!

Of course it can be an RPG, there are already DBZ RPGs out there(i think for GBA) except for the battles are actual fights.

It's definitely a good idea.

Umm ... hell yeah it's feasible.

I would say that it may call for a unique battle system, but I would say yes.

A side-view battle system would work very well with DBZ I think. I, myself, even pondered about creating DBZ resources, but I had other projects occupying my time.

How did I miss this topic? I think you'd need an Action Battle Syste for a DBZ, there was one that might be good, but I lost my copy of it :( But yeah, it's possible.

Honestly, I would veer away from an ABS if I were creating this project.

I absolutely HATED the DBZ games for Gameboy(Legacy of Goku) that featured an ABS. However, "Dragonball Z: Legendary Super Warriors" was perhaps my favorite DBZ game of all time. It featured a turned based card battling system, with kick ass spritesets.

Yeah me too, its probally going to be like sideview action time based with conditional attacks. one interesting thing i am going to put in it is a Sequence Skills Script that makes you input a command for a skill, but i also want one that has like a chargable skill.

That sounds reasonable ...

I hope this project gets off the ground.

I KNOW DBZ can be made into something special with this engine.

Yes, this can be done. All you need is to edit pictures for battlers, find sprites or make them, add custom scripts if needed. It will take a lot of work, but it will be worth it! Good luck!

Nisage, it was made in July ¬.¬

To answer your real question (I think Broken wants to know if DBZ would be a good RPG, not is it possible to make), I don't think so.

IMO it would be really hard to make a DBZ dan game with a decent story line.

Depends on the program used to rip them I suppose.

I don't rip resources from anything. I make my own, so I wouldn't know too much about the process, but if that is a route your interested in taking, then weigh the options.

In the end, you'll probably save a lot of time by ripping, rather than creating, but you won't get all the glory. You need to provide proper credit, etc...
