Joey 9 Report post Posted July 25, 2009 Well, thanks to XDoggStrafe I might be able to finally work on my games once again for good. I figured I'll be needing a team or whatever to help though, like I've said in the past...as long as you provide me with the resources (sprites, tilesets, scripts, etc.) I'll be able to handle the rest myself, unless I say otherwise, lol. Now then, about the series... Encounters is something I came up with when I started playing around with 2K, now I'm turning this into a series that has a mix of sci-fi and comedy. People that heard me talk about this game tell me that this may turn out to be Kingdom Heart-ish due to some of the characters in the game, though I'll get to that later...Right now I'll just get to telling what the games I'm currently "working" on (well I was working on them, but, you know...lol). Joey's Worst Nightmare This is considered my FIRST RPG that I've made back then on 2K, though I never finished once I heard about XP and started making Mistery (no that's not a typo). I'm making this game not part of the series...but at the same time it is, its hard to explain. Reason is, this game makes ABSOLUTELY no sense at all, and contains high amounts of stupidity and randomness that is sure to bring your IQ down by a large amount, lol. Despite this the game is amazingly funny, I watched a lot of my friends play the 2K version and they couldn't stop laughing. When XP came around I thought that I quit the 2K one and remake it on XP, so I'm going to be changing a few things around and making the game "better"...is that even possible? Oh and by the way some of the characters in this game (and the actual series) are based on my real friends as well as myself, while the others are based on other anime and video games, and then there are those that I've completely created myself. Mistery Planet Where the series actually starts, the two games are kinda linked together...all you know is that Joey and his friends were trapped in a dream state where Virlo (one of the main villains, I'll get to them some other time) tries to kill them there, which happens in Nightmare (minus the stupidity and all that). Once they escape, they wake up deserted on what seems to be an unknown planet at first. But later they find out that this is Illusions's (the name of their army) old home planet and base and that DSA (the name of the villains army, I've decided to call it the Dark Star Army). So the basic story is that they need to figure out what's wrong and what has happened to the planet, fix and reclaim their planet. (and figure out why DSA is doing this) As you can probably tell, the story may need some work, though you get the point. Anyways I've been stuck with these two due to missing resources and mainly the scripts. The two uses a unique kind of party changer or whatever...and the battle system is also special since it interacts with the party. (the party is large even though the amount of characters that can fight are still 4) There's a lot of stuff that I may need but can't think of all of them right now, for now I just want to see who's willing to help out before saying that stuff...These games are just being made for fun and to show my friends and family, so no money will be made or whatever...Though I do believe the series could turn out to be very big if I can get them running. Some scripts to expect: Figured I'd at least give you these to think about, not listing everything though. Party Changer/Large Party (special, will explain better later on) A second menu option in the main menu, basically an unlock able that contains mini-games and whatnot...plan to have a lot of goodies here. Some characters will have an advance attack that is quite powerful called a Charged Attack, some of them I'm assuming will use scripting. Puzzle/Action Bosses, in MP there will be special bosses that will take place on the field...they are not that action battle system I believe and I don't know if this will be using scripting or eventing...I'll talk about his later on. Now then, team info...I already know some are ready to help, such as Kiriashi and XDoggStrafe...so...yeah...lol. Though I'll let them post here first to make sure they're still wanting to help... Mappers: None... Spriters: None... Scriptors: None... Tilesets: None... Storywriters: Joey, any others can join here to help improve my story and whatnot. Other: None... Anything I'm missing let me know and I'll add it here... Well that's all I can think of at the moment, I hope I can get these games moving again. Joey 9 Report post Posted August 4, 2009 That's fine really, I don't plan on having these games (especially Nightmare, lol) done professional-like...Just to learn the program and whatnot, I do plan on trying to take it seriously on MP's (Mistery) sequel, whenever that happens, lol. Enigma 10 Report post Posted August 5, 2009 I'll help yah/join your team but you have to do the same for me, I've got a lot of leftover scifi graphics from my limit game btw +2k is my forte, If it wasn't for my hdd failing I wouldve had the 2k limit out alredy but fate is pissed at me. Joey 9 Report post Posted August 5, 2009 Yeah, I think I saw them too...though I don't think they're the ones I'm looking for. I might double check one of these days... To be honest I don't know if I'll even start the RPGs yet. XD (mainly because seeing how I haven't had much luck getting them going again for a long time) I have so many things and ideas in my head right now, lol. Like I'm wanting to make this Mario Party-like game (though the characters would be based off my RPG instead), and also some other type of games that I doubt they could be made with RMXP.
