Fayte 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 Arcane Revenants *The Creation* "In the beginning was only the Divine... The Divine was named, Aether... In the dark of the Void, Aether begat the sphere of existence, our world... He called it Altrea... Aether blessed Altrea with a place of life, a paradise, the Divine Forest. Then, Aether entered in unto Altrea, making a home in the Forest." For years to come Aether was alone in his beautifully created home. Eventually he became restless and began to long for company, something he could watching over-- call his kin. Aether then gave life to the first of the Immortals, divine and beautiful. Aether did not stop there though, Aether joyous of his new flesh creation, he created the beasts of the earth, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea. Altrea had become beautiful, and Aether her immaculate heart. An age passed, and with Aether's blessing the Immortals multiplied, and filled the world... But an age is a time too long even for the undying to remain in perfection... And so the Immortals were no longer divine in their intention; instead, forgotten of the blessings of their true home, the Divine Forest. In their folly the Immortals thought to remake the forest of Aether in their own image; so plot to attack the Forest and Aether as well. At this Travesty Aether wept - and where before Aether's face had been whole, by grief it was split into two; three faces of life, three faces of creation. The first face, divine and pale, eyes red like a setting sun- the Immortals. The second, Angels, beautiful, powerful and fearsome, pure antithesis to the divinity of the Immortals - and bent solely on their destruction. The Angels hunted the Immortals with hideous implements of power, killing them off by the masses. However Aether was wise - and upon the death of an Immortal, so too did an Angel perish, until at last all Immortals and Angels seemed to have vanished from the face of Altrea. The souls of the Immortals and Angels then rose to the sky drifting with no home. It was then the third face of Aether gave birth, to a diminished race far less capable of destruction - the form of Alfan. Into the body of the Alfan Aether poured the souls of Angels and Immortals alike, purifying them of their past misdeeds, allowing a new chance for all. *Story* *Granthas* This is where the game starts off. Arro talks with a noble of Granthas about a commission. Arro then heads to his targets hideout. On the way there he encounters many battles with goons (the first battle will be a planned tutorial of the battle system). Arro then encounters his target (Nito) and has a short conversation with him before a battle ensues. Arro defeats Nito but before he can apprehend him Aria enters the room and interrupts him, allowing a chance for Nito to get away. After an argument between the two they realize that Nito had gotten away and begin to chase after him (encountering foes as they do). On their second encounter, Nito has grown a lot stronger and slightly more ferocious then before and they are easily defeated. Arro is knocked down and when he stands up to attack Nito once more, he is suddenly stabbed in the back. Arro then awakens in the spirit realm where he encounters and defeats Thanatos for his right to live in the mortal realm again. *Nord's Shack* Arro awakens at Nord's place where a conversation ensues about his unconsciousness. Afterward Arro goes to the dining room where he and Aria get into an argument about how he "stole" her bounty. Nord convinces them to stop bickering and eat, so they do. After the meal the trio decide to split up and Arro decides to head to Trantamont City to search for his next bounty while still in pursuit of his current. *Trantamont City* Arro enters the town and heads towards the pub. Right before he enters he hears a load scream of a woman yelling for help. Here the player is given a choice; ignore the woman and walk into the pub or go see what the problem is. When Arro returns from completing his mission he realized that he got no leads from it and decides to try again. This time he meets a young girl by the name of Celet, who hires you to help her find her brother. That's all I have so far. *Characters* -Protagonists- Arro Species: Immortal Game Place: Main Character Age: 21 Bio (Still Under Construction) Aria Species: Alfan Game Place: Main Character Age:19 Bio (Still Under Development) A self-styled fledgling bounty hunter. She's a runaway from an overbearing and overprotective church leader - her father. She's also far too keen to shed twelve generations of Aetherian Church tradition upheld by her family. Her rambunctious attitude and benevolent heart sometimes gets her into sticky situations, but she is not averse to causing injury. Proud and independent, she plans to make a name for herself, not as a 'stuffy priestess', but instead as a famous bounty hunter, and perhaps one day even as a Midian Knight. Nordarin "Nord" Species: Alfan Game Place: Main Character Age: 52 Bio (Still Under Development) A broken ex-knight whose past is shrouded in mystery. Rumor has it that his partial face-mask covers a hideous disfigurement. None of his present associates have ever see him remove the mask, and so the rumor cannot be put to rest either way. Due to a complete lack of mobility in one leg, he also wears a steel brace to support a limp-like walk. Ashamed of his useless lower body, Nord has focused his training obsessively on his arms and torso. As a result he now possesses unmatched physical strength in his upper body. The downside of his overly focused training is an unbalanced physique; his arms and chest are unnaturally defined, and their immense breadth and girth sit in stark contrast to his thin legs - torn, poorly fitted shirts being an unavoidable consequence. Regardless of his impediments he is an impressive fighter, capable of surprising agility. He specializes in powerful, sweeping physical attacks. Nord's personality is gruff but polite - unless he is pressed about his past. Celet Species: Alfan Game Place: Main Character Age: 12 Bio (Still Under Development) A young girl who lives with her older brother. Her father died a few years back after a long and unforgiving illness. After his death their mother changed, she started abusing them, both verbally and physically. Her older brother, Rantalou (or Rant as he likes to be called), had had enough of the abuse and fled with his younger sister in the night, after stealing enough money and goods to survive for a few days. They managed to make it to Trantamont, where Rant worked as a goods sender/retriever in exchange for a place for him and his sister to live. One night Rant disappeared without notice and now all she wants to do it find him. Rantalou "Rant" Species: Alfan Game Place: Main Character Age: 17 Bio (Still Under Development) A young man living in Trantamont with his younger sister. Their father died a few years back after suffering from a terrible illness. When Rant's mother started abusing them, he decided to take matters into his own hands and find away for him and his little sister to get away. One night he robs a bakery but is spotted in the process. Fleeing with whatever he has he races back to his home and sneaks Celet out. They got away unharmed but for fear of being caught they decided to never again return to their hometown. Eros Species: Angel Game Place: Main Character Age: 20 Bio (Still Under Construction) Nito Species: Immortal Game Place: Support Character Age: Really Old Bio (Still Under Construction) -Antagonists- Jah Species: Angel Age: Unknown Bio (Still Under Construction) Slim Species: Alfan Age: 32 Bio (Still Under Construction) Slug Species: Alfan Age: 32 Bio (Still Under Construction) More to come... *Features I'd Like to Implement* Attitude System Through out the game the player will sometimes be given a choice in the actions they take or the words they say. For example, there may be a situation where the player will have to decide whether they want to go save the woman from a pack of wolves or mind his business and walk into the bar for a drink. If the player chooses to go save the woman then they will get a plus one for being "Heroic". If the player chooses the latter then they will get a plus one for being "Bad Ass". At the end of the game a screen will come up showing how many times the player has saved, how many times the player has gotten game over, how many times they chose the "Bad Ass" choice, how many times they made the "Heroic" choice, and their over all attitude. Also, if the player chooses to pick the "Heroic" choice they will see a different scene and obtain different items then they would have if they had chosen the "Bad Ass" choice. Collos TCG Here is the video and below is the basic outline of how the game is played. They will be skippable if the player so chooses. *new* Friends System Friends System - This system is split up into two sections. NPC and Clerk. NPC - Sometimes when a player talks to a certain NPC they will grow a liking to him and become his friend. Becoming friends with an NPC has many benefits; They will tell you places where you can find secret items. They will ask you to go on missions not found on the board. They could introduce you to other friends. Clerk - When a player buys a certain amount of items from a Clerk they will grow to like him and become his friend, talking also helps. Becoming friends with a Clerk has many benefits; They will tell you places where you can find secret items. They will ask you to go on missions not found on the board. They will sell you their items cheaper. The player will also have a Friend menu; where it would show their friend, a short bio, and where he/she can be located. *new* Weapon Slots and Skill Point Allocation Weapon Slots - Each weapon has a certain amount of slots. You can put skills into a slot to use it. Once you master a skill you know it for good. Some weapons come with skills ready to be mastered or already learned. Points can be obtained through battle. Points can be distributed to any skill equipped to the current equipped weapon. *new* 150+ Missions (Not really a feature, I know) 150+ missions - There will be a total of 175 missions in the game. 100 missions posted on the board. 75 missions given to you by "Friends". *Things I need help with* I honestly need help completing this games story. Nippa77, who was my former co-writer, did a great job at helping me get my game on it's feet. I've continued a very little bit further from where he left off but it's just really impossible to bounce ideas off of myself. I thank him for helping me this far and if anyone would be willing to help bring this projects story to life, then don't be afraid to drop a line here or PM. *Quick FAQ* What are the Roads of Fate? The Roads of Fate is where a soul goes after it's owners body has deceased. The roads are split up into three different paths; The Asphodel Meadows, The Elysian Fields, and the Tartarus. At the entrance to the roads lies the judge of the dead, Thanatos, who judges the soul based on how they've lived their life and send them down the appropriate path. The Asphodel Meadows - For those who lived lives of near equal good and bad choices. The Elysian Fields - For those who lived virtuous and heroic lives. The Tartarus - For those who were evil and treacherous What are Immortals? Immortals were the first to be born by Aethers blessings. They are near perfect and in a sense cannot die, for when they reach the Roads of Fate they are allowed to fight Thanatos for their right to live (Unless killed by an Angel). Although instinct, it is said that if a human were to be touched by one of Aethers butterflies they will turn into an Immortal. What are Angels? Angels were Aethers second form of life and far less perfect then the former. They were born for the soul purpose of killing the traitorous Immortals, but upon doing this they automatically die and are sent to Tartarus. Both Angels and Immortals grow stronger when near their counterparts. What are Alfans? Alfans are Altrea's Humans. They were Aether's last and final form of life, they are perfect in his eyes because they are less "dangerous" and evolve much slower then his former creations. He also took away their ability to fight for their life once sent to the roads. Why can Immortals see the path to Aether's Forest and not Angels? Because Immortals were Aethers first creation they have a very strong bond with him. Angels being born after the Immortals migrated out of the forest and only for the purpose of "killing to be killed" thye do not share that some bond.
