Ok, I was thinking maybe the site could put together a small game. Not a large game, but one to show our abilities. Anybody else think this would be fun?

sure, I'll help...I'm best with eventing so...give me a storyline and stuff to go by, and I could probably program all the events...otherwise, I'm not too sure what I could do to help Also, Leon, it would be cool if you could add that emoticon I just used to the forums...It is kinda getting a little tiring copying and pasting it with img tags from my website

Well, I am going to set up a list of every office we need. For example, Ark is excellent at events, (he was my right-hand man with the guard assassination system) I can do Scripts. Wyz I think will handle music. SCMike can also handle events, and a little scripting.

 

We also need maps, and a storyline, not to mention characters and resources. Check the first post for the list of positions and where you would like to sign up as.

 

NOTE: I would like, if oyu can, for everyone, or close to, to do maps, and everyone make sure that each map looks good. Not to mention a style of mapping.

 

By style, I mean all map pieces interlocking, or segmented like FFX.

 

Further, we need a project leader. The way this will work is We will take nominations, then vote. Further, you cannot nominate yourself.

Hey, I've been saying it for weeks. I'll write anything. It's what I do. I mean, seriously, I get paid for it. It is literally my job.

 

Luckily for you fellows, I'm working pro bono. Celebrate, you've all got preferred customer status. And, unfortunatly, I have been passed up for publication again. So, I'll be around here for awhile longer.

 

Uh... am I going to have to provide an example of my writing prowess, because I can, if you'd like. Or, you could, you know, just read the poems and short stories I've already uploaded. Or you could dismiss me out of hand; Really, you're just flooded with options. :D

 

So... yeah. There you go... Yeah. I can have a rough story up for approval in less than two hours. Just say the word.

That sounds excellent. Can you be sure it is unique, and as for characters, should we base them on those around the site? THe active users, so to speak? For now, just names out of it, if you can, and set it more toward medieval. I like how this is turning out. Thanks alot!

And I can help with mapping some both you and Arkbennet said I was good at doing the interiors and I need some work on exterior but hey I could try to learn. And yea I can hunt down music or try making my own. And we know I suck at eventing lol and I don't know nothing about scripts. But yea I say we base characters off the active people from the site.

Yeah, i'm in too. I like mapping, its fun. I can sprite, but it takes me a long time. And i have to focus on spriting for my characters for my game. So yeah, i can map if you like.

 

BTW, i would like to vote for Leon as out leader simply because we are representing this site and he is admin.

 

Also: If there definately isn't anyone else volunteering for Spriting, i'll do it - but it would be Kaiser - High Detail

Looks like I'm leading this project, lest someone else gets nominated. Anyway, As for the story, let's not have anyone in the site be a playable character, but rather important NPC's. Let's let them name the person. This will make features all that much better.

 

Further, let's get started. What kind of features, and how many playable actors should be in the game? What will the storyline be? (we need to wait for Demondaze and Grandor on that one.) And what kind of weapons? If anyone can take 1 battler, edit it to look original, and make him use many different types of weapons, I can impliment my weapon creation script at the last minute. (I am not giving away the code yet, sorry!). Also, should there be a HUD? Those are the kinds of things we need to look at at the moment.

 

Also, let's stadardize a few terms real quick:

 

Actor: A playable person in the game.

Player: The person playing the game.

User: Us, the ones making the game.

 

This way, there is no confusion.

Need to make a storyline first, then all hold a meeting in a chat room and discuss futures that we could have. Then go on from there.

Also discuess what type of game mood we're going for, like the music for instance and also make surroundings to match it.
