Marked 197 Report post Posted August 20, 2009 It has been a while since any changes or major updates have gone on here at RMXP Unlimited, so I'd like to attempt to get some feedback from members to see what we're doing right and what we're doing wrong. This includes forum AND website. There won't be any polls, just posts by members. This is kind of general, but it would be helpful if you started your posts like this: The things I don't like about RMXP Unlimited are... and The things I like about RMXP Unlimited are... Any and all posts are welcome, no matter how useless they may seem. It would be helpful to compare opinions between old and new members too. Also don't be afraid to mention management, if you dont like how I act or anything, for example, you're saying it for my benefit and you wont come under any criticism for it. By the old one are you referring to "Unlimited Pro" ? I agree, the forum needs a facelift. I have looked at a few skins in the past so I should be able to find another suitable one. At the moment I am thinking of adding a new one skin instead of replacing the current one, unless everyone really dislikes this one? Is there anything else? Chief 30 Report post Posted August 21, 2009 - Needs new banner up top (sorry pol) - Needs official logo - Needs the new Favicon up (secrets, i think) - needs new Official skin (new default) Overall, it needs a new look. youve had this look for a long time now, and the community doesnt seem to be going anywhere fast. I also suggest presenting yourself in a new way. Sure, RM is awesome and fun, but it just doesnt cut the cake when it comes to indie game dev. Im not saying to rethink the whole site, as that would be a catastrophie, but you need to try and attract members other than those who use RM. how you do this? dunno, your site, you have to be the public relations manager here. and if youre thiking, well this is an RM site, we dont need other kinds of members, well, RM only goes so far. I think you understand this. As for a bit of inactivity, Scrive5 (once it comes out), should help a ton with activity and new traffic. Of course you didnt, im appreciative of your feedback :) The new favicon? Are you talking about this: As for a logo, I had this: I'm looking forward to Scrive5. However I may not be able to provide on my end as promised(the script submit component), not until the end of the year at least. I have been thinking of diversifying out of RM, especially emily too, its just about how to go about it which where I'm having trouble. What I have planned though, and had planned for a while, is adding new engines along the main menu of the website and have pages as i've done for the rmxp and rmvx pages. Although the only real updated part of the site is the scripts archive, the other sections are over a year old and need to be updated badly. I hope to add some new engine support here though, hopefully soon. Yea i think we need all of that. We need a new skin that matches the site more and integrate the site into the forum. If we can do this woa your talking very very good site. A skin that integrates with the site more. That could be difficult, but I'll try and get a matching a skin. I'll dedicate a day to finding rmxp unlimited a new skin. I think it will take a day to find, edit and setup to use here.
