Sooo....Heres an old MMO Idea I had.....

Well....to begin everything off, I bought a game for my Gamecube a while back (Skies of Arcadia Legends) and I was blown away by it. Its basically a game about air pirates and stuff, finding and discovering treasures, battling other rival pirates, capturing bounties, owning your own pirate base(a la floating island) recruiting shipmates and thats not even talking about the main storyline! So in honor of SoAL (meaning there wont be a sequel to this magnificent game) I put the main idea of the game out and started building around it and my friend came along and helped me refine some ideas. This isnt complete but I just want people's opinions of it so far.

 

Basic Class List

Trainer

Novices who have hardened their bodies in the wild. Becoming close with nature, they have been granted the ability to befriend animals.

 

Gunner

Bold individuals who put down the sword and picked up a gun. Masters of long range battles, they have been known to turn the tide of battle.

 

Priest

Holy summoners who call forth spirits of lore to aid them in battle.

 

Swordsman

One who has trained in the ways of swordplay

 

Apprentice

One that has trained hard thus enabling them to use all weapons

 

Conjurer

Magic class that summons dark creatures from The Void

 

Magician

Typical magic using class that learns both white and black magic

 

Cleric

Basic Healing class of course

 

Features

 

Rebirth/Class Upgrade - A quest for class changing becomes available at lv 50

Lv 100 Max Cap

Character Customization - Start off by changing everything from your character's appearance to their clothes to even your pets.

Black Beasts & White Royals - basically bad and good pirates. Black Beasts attack merchant vessals and such and White Royals defend and uphold the pirate law.

Pets - Every monster is able to drop an egg which can be hatched into a mini form of that monster. Some are more rare than others.

AirShips - Once a player has reached Lv 10 on "Novice Island" they get a quest that grants them their AirShip License

Territory Control - Guilds are able to control cities and towns via guild battles or a rival guild raiding the town and capturing the town hall.

Random Events - Events such as a giant whale that attacks players traveling in their airships.

Notoriety/ Fame System - BBs can gain notoriety by being ruthless and killing other pirates while WRs can gain fame by protecting other pirates and protecting the pirate code.

Job System - Learn lifeskills which can be used to make money (good economy builder)

AirShip Customization - change your AirShip, everything from the cannons, to the color, to the shields and more.

Full Scale AirShip Battles - Have the best AirShip guild? Challenge an opposing faction for control of the skies.

Guild/Crew System - The guilds will be split into both BB and WR guilds for easy selection.

Title System - Become the Corrupted or the Lovable or even the Die Hard!

Quests - Quests will be more than your typical "go kill x-amount of creatures" or "go collect X-amount of materials". Quests will consist of actual missions ranging from escorts to protection of a town and even destruction of towns.

Equipping items change character appearance -Tired of other mmos where you equip your golden sparkling armor but your avatar still is wearing the same clothes you began with? Well we hope to change that

 

 

I'll upload more (like upgraded classes and transcendent classes) about it now but I have to go write for my mod Infected and some other mods I have given my attention to.

Strength = Affects both attack and defense

Speed = Affects accuracy, evasion and critical hit ratio

Intelligence = Affects magic power and resistance

Endurance = Affects HP/MP regain rate

I think this is great. I'm not sure how to make the MMO, but if you need help you can ask me. I adore the idea about the Customizable Airships and full-scale airship battles. I also have a question; do you start with a small and rather weak airship and upgrade and/or buy bigger and better ones?

 

I hope that this game gets somewhere; a playable demo would be awesome! :D

Well i havent the slightest idea how ima go about it now either to be honest. And I was thinking about giving every player a small weak airship at lv 10 when they leave "novice island" and then from there they can buy new ships and upgrade them. Prolly with a max of 5 or 6 ships that a person can own.
