[XP] Character set request

I hate to ask for something, I always feel bad asking for stuff when I can't possibly do anything in return but... I find that I can't find any sprites to go with a battler I have, and it's pretty annoying.

I've been trying to look for one for a few days with no avail. I can't even find any sprites to base it off of (not that I can edit it, I assure you... I am useless trash at anything like that)

 

 

I actually thought it'd be easy enough to find a black armored female sprite... and I would've tried to edit the hair (and butcher it, I'm sure) but I couldn't find anything even remotely similar.

 

I assure you, I'm by no means picky, and will be grateful for any help rendered.

I know one Character Sprite that looks close, just have to change the red hair to white but the sprite is male :( But that's for you to decide, I'll recolor it once I'm back on the computer (it's one of those busy days).

hmn... if it obviously looks male I'm afraid I can't use it ... but if it's in theory passable as female I won't mind. She's sort of a major character ... but if it can pass off as her, then I have no qualms. I know I said I have no room to be picky, but hmn... I don't want you to waste potential effort/time if there's a chance I won't like it, so I'm not sure what to say.

It kind of does look like a male, so I'll just make/recolor a sprite and see where we go from there.

It is hard to recolor any hair to a good shade of white, so sorry if the hair doesn't look right.

Meh ... sorry, I can't use this. It's too overly male appearing which is too bad. I'm sorry you wasted your time/effort. Well ... I'm being too hastey. I can't use it for the battler I intended, but that's actually still a nice sprite. It won't go to waste, but it can serve the purpose I wanted.

That's actually really nice. Would it possible to make the armor darker, though? In the battler pic it looks black.

I'm replying with my iPod now, but I'll get to it as soon as I can. The color of the armor does look blue, but that might just be my computer.

Well, it's not exactly the blackest thing ever, but it's certainly extremely dark. I suppose lighter shades of black can resemble very dark blue ... but even so, I'm not sure why it'd seem blue. Does it seem that way to everyone? I notice even the other one has blue armor... but everyone I ask/show it to on AIM or to friends are saying it looks black.

Thanks, this helps alot. I dunno, I don't think I have much talent, I've been messing with these for a couple years off/on, with no real increase in ability to help others. Though I hope eventually that I may be able to possibly help in some form/fashion...

It was actually a lot easier than you might think, and pretty hard to mess up. All I did was take the original image, and use the burn tool in photoshop. Took like 4-5 minutes for each frame, so while it was time consuming, it wasn't necesarrily hard, and if you got a color too dark (which wasn't really possible in this case, was it?) then you could just go back in the history pallet. Pretty simple stuff.

 

Oh btw. I've never made a sprite either. I suck at drawing. I can script a little, but not a whole lot.

Yeah, definitely credit him for the sprite. Like I said, I couldn't make a sprite if my life depended on it. lol.
