Before anything, I would to say hi to everyone ^_^ I'm a friend of Marked, I've learned a lot from him dealing with RMXP, and yes I've been around, but always in the shadows lol. But I digress, here's my project =D

*Reason for file size: The file itself is big mainly because I added the soundtrack for the game, with its huge bank of sound effects. And after piecing together my own installation for it, the size went up even a tad bit more.

-Please note that the game is huge because of the music files, the DEMO patches that will be uploaded later in the future will NOT contain the audio files, that will be added separately to cut down download time - ZenOokami

Intro

....Somewhere, in a plain between worlds... four dark mysterious figures gather...

Figure1: "The time has come... *laughs*... He wishes to begin immediately... So lets, shall we?"

Figure2: "As long as he shows up on the death bed of Mother once more for a final show down... I'm willing to start... Humph... I wonder if he'll be surprised to see me living once more...

Figure3: "And you say you can grant unimaginable power correct!? Yesss~~~ as long as I get that power... I'm willing to serve *licks lips*.

As barriers between worlds are being torn down, join up with an alliance of good to combat evil. On your way to forming an army from the alliance gain aide from Souls (Summons[KoS], Aeons[Final Fantasy], Summon Jutsu[Naruto]) you take by showing your worthiness. Do you have what it takes to defeat this organization of Dark Dictators from controlling all life?

 

Base Idea

KoS:tBoS is basically like a turn based Kingdom of Hearts style game in RMXP. I got the idea to make this an actual project after I programming a ton of events into one project to test things out. Eventually i found myself with sprites from countless games. So I decided to go ahead and give spoilers to the Story of "Kingdom of Souls", since thats where the game starts off.

The game is about worlds that are splitting into other worlds. These worlds are the worlds of:

  • Kingdom of Souls
  • Final Fantasy (1-10)
  • Bleach
  • Naruto
  • One Piece
  • D.Gray-Man
  • Toonami (Tom is a playable ally)
  • More coming later...

Each world is planned to be HUGE, as we plan to have patches for chapters for the game.

 

-TEASER NOTE!

Bleach is the first world to come by, and depending on which actions you take during interactive cut scenes will determine the unlocking of some strong skills/spells early at a weak level.

Dynamic AI

The Artificial Intelligence will be somewhat more advanced than my earlier work. I spent about a good 3 months properly coming up with theories and found multiple ways to keep dialog fresher than most games have had. The only problem is that now EVERY NPC has to have their own character Background... That means they have their own personality, and their own reactions to what ever you do.

What does this mean? It means the programming of just talking with a NPC has to be extremely long because I want countless remarks towards you. Doing this calls different conversations through [Variables, Switches, Self-Switches, Timers, and ect.].

 

[uPDATE:12/17/09]

The AI has once more been updated. Each AI has a set of routines that they will switch up depending on random occasions. Tho in the demo this will not be the case, the demo will continue using "ZB's Adv AI System v2.5"

 

 

Dynamic Maps

Every Map will feature interaction out the donkey. Almost everything in the game can be examined, and checked. Almost everything can be activated to do something.

The maps now have a variety of sub categories that determine a set amount of events such as weather, and visual effects.\

Currently we have a Side View "NON-ANIMATED" battle system. This way, we can focus on getting the project done faster.

 

Also I'm working on making a stable AI system to go along with each monster and troop.

*Reps' Up*

 

Like Polraudio said, this game does look quite fun to play. I only have two gripes.

 

 

Using characters from TV Shows, anime, and other games (etc.) is kinda cheap. I'm not saying your stealing or anything, and I'm not going to stop you from doing it, but it limits the capabilities of your storyline and makes your less original.

 

Also the screen of the map you posted isn't the best.

 

 

Still, the game ideas sound extremely intuitive and fun so I'm defiantly supporting this project.

 

I can't help you as a full time member of this project, but if you need any quick help on a map, or if I find spare time I will help you make a map or two.

Thanks for the comments guys ^_^, and im glad you're anticipating the project =].

 

I am sad to hear that you feel the story will be limited and I hope to prove you wrong during the demo release (hopefully this decemberish) >=D you've just made my work more enjoyable.

 

As for mapping, im not the best mapper no, but as long as players say "thats gorgious" and "wow....speechless" and a great-pro mapper says "Not Bad" =) im happy ^_^... well content lol.

 

if can suggest anything (not to big but not to small of a chore ((unless its a good one lol)) ) then please do lol.

 

 

also, the main storyline is tied to Kingdom of Souls, thats my custom Manga =), when i get home from school, I'll add concept art lol.

Your map is just great. It looks very well done. It is also good you are using costume graphics. They bring a nice feel to the game.

Looks like it will turn out to be an interesting game :) I would offer my help as a mapper or graphic artist, but I'm still not too familiar with the mapping system in RPG Maker (although I am a mapper/admin on a small 2D game with graphics somewhat similar to RPG Maker), and depending on the types of graphics you're looking for, I may or may not be able to help.

 

Let me know if I can help in any way. :)

Nope, not Eclipse...it's not my game either, I just help moderate/map/sprite for it. It's a free-to-play online MMO called TerraWorld Online...small community, but we're always looking for new players. If you want, I can send you a link :)

Nope, not Eclipse...it's not my game either, I just help moderate/map/sprite for it. It's a free-to-play online MMO called TerraWorld Online...small community, but we're always looking for new players. If you want, I can send you a link :) PS ~ Nice new concept art...keep up the good work :D

 

=O i would love to check out pics, unfortunately my computer's hard drive is nearly full with all the programs i got (rmxp, vx, camtasia, adobe suit cs4 (huge files) and ect.) so i cant successfully play any online game (or any 3d game for that matter) until i get a 2nd newer computer lol.

 

but i'll post it on mah site if you want to lol.

Also, to not make this post completely off-topic, zane, I just noticed that one of the features is a communication system...could you elaborate on this? does this mean we can communicate with other people, or what?

oh nooo lol, im not doing something that advance yet xD, thats meant to be a webpage about players with the game. You know to show case how they had their characters and ect played out, which decisions they made and ect.

 

and i'll add you to my live tonight lol.

 

as for the overdrive system, im thinking of something new... gonna try to have it as a called common event during battles when specific requirements are met lol. Like for instance for Bob it may have to be a night battle with his health full and darkness casted on him.

 

-This theory (that im working with at the moment) gives me plans for a need of certain characters to perform the overdrive lol.

 

but again thats just a theory =3, if that dosnt work, i'll just use a script called "Soul Rage" by... someone from this site, I wrote his name down somewhere xD

Update:

-Time System 90% finished (really its 100%, but i have an urge to add to it)

-Lighting System Implemented - at 25%

-AI Updated : Their deep dialog is now extended by branching into the time system =D

-Leveling System revamped - but not finished

-Battle Formula (not the actual formula, but the basis of the stats of enemies and players) have been stripped and are being redone

-Tileset format 40% complete

 

 

as soon as im done with all my systems and ect, i'll begin with preparations for an actual demo (IE: working on side quests and what not)

[uPDATE]

 

All systems are strung together by a global system called "CZZC Network of Systems" [bETA]

 

the "network" is simply all my systems that are 50+% completed, organized neatly and effectivly while bouncing information off one another.

 

-Exmaple: the AI System is based on data bounced from the Time System, and some AI have info bounced off from the [NEW SPAWNING SYSTEM].

 

New Systems:

 

-Spawning Materials System: Natural Resources will now spawn over time - 30% (making it so that people cant find the time scheme, as in im making it have 12 pathical choices that switch up at random)

 

-Weather Effect: The system works hand `n hand with the Dynamic Map system, where as only a few types are weather styles can happen in specfic maps.

@the previous post, yea kinda in a hurry to get the visuals done, and dont have the patience for this particular project lol.

 

Also when I send out the BETA versions for testers to find bugs, it will include the HUD with map names and time display =D

 

this project is doing exactly what i wanted it to do. Greatly increase my skillz =Þ

Alright, the mini-DEMO has been added!

 

(A mini-DEMO at CZZC is the base of a short demo, we will release patches to extend some moments of game play and to fix bugs of the demo FOR TESTING)

 

please note that the file is large because of audio, in which future patches will not contain the audio file to shorten download time.

 

but a separate file for the audio will be uploaded just in case.
