Fading music in an RMXP game?

  1. 1. Would it be okay if the music in an RMXP game faded but then looped?

    • Only if ALL the music was that way.

So, I've been playing around with my audio files lately, and I think I've found a cool way of adding a bunch of good music into my game. However, the problem is, all the music will fade, then loop. Does this procedure seem like it would be a bad idea to use in a video game? I've seen it used in a lot of games as of late (Yin-Yang X Change Alternative, WoW, and most MMOs I know of), but would it be okay if it happened in an RMXP game? Give me your thoughts please.

I can see where you would go with this, but the player would probably notice in just a little bit of time.

WoW has the player so consumed and the music is so epic that the loopyness can be hard to notice.

You might wanna try to edit it so that it actually loops (I don't know how else to explain it.) or have the music change.

That's also true, a lot of MMOs have you doing a lot, so it is a bit harder to notice the loop. Maybe I should try making a project with looping and fading music and see what people think?

Looping music wouldnt actually be that bad. As long as it loops fast enought so that you cant hear it stop that restart.

I don't think it would matter. I once played a game that did that and the music went quiet for 30 min and i didn't even notice till someone asked.

Yeah go ahead and do it.

As long as you can't tell when the music is restarting, its okay. IMO anyways..

And a lot of SE, ME, and other goings on will help as well.
