Broken Messiah 20 Report post Posted October 18, 2009 First of all I grew up watching Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, and GT, so when I saw that a movie was coming out, I wondered whether it was good or not. Goku and Friends Return! then I advise NOT to watch it. Its good in all, and you get to see Goten and Trunks battle a weak villain. They just didn't give the Dragon Ball (Not Z) movie more time on the project. It could have been better if they had more money and time. They also messed up the Kamahamaha wave. IMDB Comments This is a total butchering of what I had held great hopes of seeing. The movies attempts to follow the dragon ball story line, meanwhile adding a "modern" spin on it (ie. chi chi's castle, and Master Roshi lives in a regular semi whats up with that?). What the viewers want to see is a storyline that follows the cartoon series without any changes, and additions. Overall, the plot is weak, the characters do not look like the cartoons (ie. Yamcha, Master Roshi), the 2D cartoon series had better special effects than the movie (and the series had NO special effects, thats how terrible it was). I created an IMDb account JUST to comment on how they butchered Dragonball for me and I hope that Hollywood is smarter next time as to when they bring such a strong fan based series onto the big screens or they will only infuriate more of the audience. Hello fellow imdb users! After watching Dragonball Evolution and being a Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, & Dragon Ball GT fan, I saw a ton of flaws in the movie. You know better than anyone else who enjoys a good flick that a flaw can be anything in a movie. I find it much more fun to actually mention one flaw at a time to reminisce about how much Dragonball Evolution failed. So please, mention one flaw that you noticed about the movie. To start: 1. I do not recall a kamehameha ever reviving someone. Even if Goku was close to death by one shot, a kamehameha is an attack...not some defribrilator. Who's next? 6. Goku being a whiny "I wanna be normal!" puss at the beginning.He may've turned around after Grandpa died, but I don't want a whiny Goku AT ALL! 8. Shenron didn't even talk when he was summoned from the dragon balls. 7. Shenron being not the monstrous dragon that he should be. This was a great idea, but unless your like 10 this movie should not appeal to you and if you are over ten; well then clearly you never watched the cartton.
