Noob Saibot 38 Report post Posted November 29, 2009 You know I have been on many forums where the calendar is used by no one (and no I'm not suggesting turning it off); just here to give our members some advice on ways to use it. And the reason why is besides posting (which you may not do everyday you visit) the forum has many areas in which you can use for odds and ends. Profile: About Me Most people leave this blank or fill it with a short description, but why not use it to it's full extent? When creating your about section add as much information as you can (nothing personal of course and refrain from telling people both your first and last name; in fact avoid posting either). Instead tell us a brief thing about you and then fill the rest with what you know (e.g. video game software you use and how well you are at using them; what you can make sprites, music, etc; list projects you HAVE COMPLETED ONLY and not what you are working on. Profile: Blog Great for adding exclusive images of your projects so even if people read your TOPIC if they visit your profile they find even more information and screen shots exclusive to your profile/blog only...think about it. Calendar Great for keeping members informed when you plan on releasing a demo or screen shots, or anything related to your project.
Marked 197 Report post Posted November 29, 2009 I agree, espicially with the about me section. This is a community afterall. As for the other sections, a lot of what this forum has is heavily underused. Although perhaps this is primarily due to very little new members coming and staying, which is my job to fix. If only a select few of members post everyday, we'll burn out very soon.
