Marked 197 Report post Posted December 4, 2009 It's been an hour since the students of New Zealand nervously logged into their university accounts and checked their results. You know how I left this place for about 2 and a half months? It seems it may have paid off :) I've struggled with my education over the last few years, because of various excuses, but today is a good good day. The whanau is shocked. I'm a law student(and an rpg maker forum admin, nice combo), so there is a limited entry, only 180 students. There's a minimum grade which they say will get you through, and i got the minimum grade. But if you do badly during the year, your final exam counts for 90%, so I had just one chance to score good. So that means there is a chance I will not be accepted into second year, but I think I have made it. I did pass highschool but a single paper. In fact if i failed any one of the papers that i passed, i wouldnt even have made it to uni(once we pass highschool, we can go to any uni). Anyway, I thought i would let you guys know since it's the reason i left. *celebrates*

Tomo2000 60 Report post Posted December 4, 2009 Congrats. I'll make the leprechaun in my head through you a party. I'll make him send you a pot of gold as long as he can fit it through my ear to get it out... And if he can seem to 'find' another pot of gold. Anyway, congrats. Edit: Nup, can't get it out of my ear... I think I broke my ear :) . Can you break your ear? I know my sisters ear cartligue is broken, but not sure about the actual ear. Sorry, mate. Kiriashi 117 Report post Posted December 4, 2009 Great job man! I can't say I was worried; I had confidence in you. ^_^ Keep up the good work! P.S. What the **** does whanau mean? I wanted to use my badass vocabulary skills on you all, but I can't say I have any idea what whanau is.
Kaylen 1 Report post Posted December 4, 2009 Congratulations! whanau: Whānau is a Māori-language word for extended family, now increasingly entering New Zealand English, particularly in official publications
Marked 197 Report post Posted December 5, 2009 Thank you everyone :) It's not 100% yet, I'm still waiting for the acceptance letter which comes around christmas time. Nice work Kaylen, you googled it? I didn't even know whanau meant extended family, i thought just family. Most NZ'ers know a few Maori words. In case you're wondering how to pronounce it, the words are pronounced the same as japanese. Wha sounds like fa. I was wondering if anyone would ask about it.
