RPG Maker DS

Introducing Enterbrains latest RPG Maker, RPG Maker DS.

package_illust.jpg

We at Enterbrain are still trying to continue to provide a variety RPG's. A lot of gamers say, "I want to make my own RPG", don't you think? We therefore recommend "RPG Maker DS" for you!

With RPG Maker DS you can, without any technical knowledge, create a simple RPG. Making games is so simple. With the protagonist of the story, you can draw out an adventure with maps, and the events to lead your character there. You can also create weapons, armour, items and monsters that can be added in-game to make it more original.

The simple editor encompasses buttons grouped together to ensure that first time users can create their games. For example, the hero and monsters, items and equipment are set to parameters such as name and attack power. You can "paint" the map by using the DS Stylus. Events consist of a series of commands such as "Message", "Move Hero", "Battle" etc. Depending on the combination in the events, the story can be directed due to this.

Do you make the games on the DS or PC?

edit: nevermind, it's on the DS.

On the DS.

Marked, i think Kiriashi made a topic like this. Just good luck finding it ;)

RPG Maker has finally decided to choose a good niche for lovers of 2D.

On the NDS 2D JRPG - this is still the bomb ...

Yes I am aware of the other topic, and I could not find it. Well, I could have tried harder. This topic is to get it more attention and to announce our affiliation with RPGMakerDS.com.

I added more screenshots to the bottom of the first post. Looks like they have a character maker.

The battle system is awful. When in the blue hell will Enterbrain learn to make the side battle system?

Personally, I'm sick of turn-based combat in general. It was fine at first, but by the SNES it was just old.

Yeah, I think that people like sideview battlers better. There is a poll on the website, but it does include the option: would you if you could, use sideview battlers. A SBS is the most popular of our scripts in the archive.

Although I think the reason is the sprites. It takes considerably longer to make them, and I think enterbrain has that in mind and that it is too hard for users to create their own. As long as you can add your own scripts, I think they will stick with what they have been using. It would good if enterbrain released their own scripts though.

Good question. I certainly hope so. Either way, turn based is only good with a time bar. ie FFX (if you can call that turn-based)

No scripts, there are unlikely to work. Agree, it is impossible to print on the DS and the stylus script is not to roll. There remain only the events.

Why not? On a PC, it certainly can be downloaded and used with the emulator. NO$GBA, for example.

There are some good features, if you check on RPGMakerDS.com , I am currently working on translating some new content just published on Enterbrain's site. There is supposedly more flexability with faces, and I think charsets, when it comes to changes and armour etc...

I think Enterbrain is testing the waters of the new gen systems to see where they stand. I hope it works out for them.

No scripting feature? Bullfuck. Just hook the DS up to your computer via USB cable and import the scripts. If Enterbrain doesn't implement this feature, there'll be bodies to clean up.

But what's the point in using your own scripts? you don't distribute your own games do you? If so, why not use RMXP/RMVX where you can do more, better and faster. For me, I don't see the point in it. I'm sure this is not aimed at the same audience as the PC RPG Makers.

This game is more for a younger audience. The programs on the web are for the teen to young adult audience.

Well not so much a younger audience as a non-hardcore audience. I would personally enjoy creating a game while on the road; it could be entertaining. Sure, RMXP and RMVX are better, but RMDS is a different kind of thing.

@Midnight Assassin: Please refrain from using harsh language.

If you have a laptop then you can make a game on the road and be on the forums!

Can you fit a laptop in your pocket? Supply us with photos and maybe I'll consider agreeing with you, Frank.
