shaggy91 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2009 this is a story about a boy named Daigon Star filled with hate and revenge to defeat his greatest enemy Prologue War. War is a useless endeavour the only thing that comes from war is loss, suffering and humility. Why do we fight? What is the point of all this pain? Is it to prove we are a superior race? Or is it to protect our loved ones? I do not know all I know is that it is a mask for cowards to walk around in their battle regiments and swords to prove they are weak minded. For their tongue is blunt, their wit is blunt. Only cowards feel they need to compensate their incompetent minds. The first that was targeted was the noble Vampires. A proud, clean and beautiful race. They always lived in mansions as clans, wore expensive cloths and remained young and followed the code of all high society residents was targeted because they where “flawed” in their design by god they needed to drink the blood of mortals to remain young and alive. This was seen as a weakness. In the end of what seemed to be endless war a pact was made between Vampires and the incompetent minded. The Vampires were to become servants to the real monsters and hunt their misguided brothers and kill them. They did what they were told The second targeted was the savage Lycans. A filthy race always looking like beggars. During the day they appeared human, acted human and felt human but by nightfall they changed into savage beasts. They have the appearance of a wolf at a glance with silver fur and elongated noses. The difference between a wolf and a lycan is they have the ability to stand on their hind legs and they are a lot bigger in size. With strength beyond what any race could come to imagine, they destroyed what they wanted and killed who they pleased. That strength came at a price, they slowly lost their humanity, slowly descending into madness and cannibalism, then if they survived long enough became the best completely. Losing all humanity the vampires called an immediate meeting with their new “masters” proposing the lycans should be hunted down and eliminated, but the masters had other plans. They decided to use the lycan disease to try and create the ultimate army. They failed however. They lycans turned on their new masters forcing them into hiding. Allowing a new force to rise. This is the story of the new force and the effort to destroy that force. Chapter 1 “Where am I?” I asked myself as I walked down the twisted corridors of this unknown building. I heard strange, disturbing noises from a distance. As I progress each wall smeared in blood and different areas of bowls which look like they where removed only hours before my arrival. I progress deeper into the building the floor changes into a slight slope getting steeper as I progress. The noises I heard before, now getting louder, I can make sense of them now, sneers growls and laughs is all I can hear. A cold bead of sweat falls from my brow as my heart doubles in tempo, I am shaking as I walk further in I want to stop, turn around and run out but I push myself forwards, I must find out who lives here, what this place is and most importantly where am I. I come to a corner of the corridor it is a right turn, as I peer down the never ending black hole I see a different formation in the walls. I take five steps into this new area and approach the wall with caution. I’m fighting back the vomit that rushed up my throat; there are faces, human faces stuck on the wall hundreds to each panel. The faces range from young to old as young as three or four and as old as seventy, none I recognized, I stepped back a few paces and pulled myself together, pushed back the tears and vomit and continued through the corridor and into the darkness. I hit a door after what seems like hours of walking, behind the door I hear growls, laughter and cries for help. My instant reaction was to turn and run but I realised if what behind the door is not human, there could be more and they could be following me ready to add my face to a wall. I turned back to the door my heart rate doubles again I rest my hand on the door knob turn and open the door. Nothing in all of Unursha could prepare me for the horror I can see right now. The room looks like a gallery pillars lined in the centre supporting the ceiling, a gold line running through the centre of the wall. A very different image to that of the corridor of faces. The floor tiled with marble with gutters each side of each pillar, paintings across the wall with pictures of what seemed to be nobles portrayed within them. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it but the people portrayed in the paintings didn’t seem to be human. To the right, a wolf is on top of a man eating his legs while he cries for help, with each cry the wolf seems to let out a giggle of pride and joy. On the left hand side, a hooded figure has backed a woman to the wall. The hooded figure draws a knife from his sheaf raises it above his head, before he can deliver the final blow the woman catches sight of me “Help me please!!” She raises her hands to try and defend herself from the knife, I could not place a identity on the woman but a strange feeling came over me I felt like I had to save her. “Don’t worry!! I will save you” I shouted as I ran to her aid but as I did the wolf saw me and dashed to stand between me and the hooded figure, who didn’t even turn around to see who was disturbing his murder spree. I realise now the beast that stands between me isn’t a wolf more half man half wolf standing on only its hind legs, silver hair grew in all areas of its body also it was a great deal bigger than a wolf it glared at me with penetrating green eyes filled with hate and disgust, I shivered in fear, as I did the beast seemed to sense my fear only responding with a giggle of pure evil happiness, it edged towards me, as it did I turned to face the man it was feasting on, As I face the man tears rushed out from my eyes. It was my father! “Ill kill you!! I will kill you, you miserable excuse for a mutt!!” I cried. The beast let out a huge roar of laughter, it seems like it took amusement to my threat, well I would too, I am unarmed and shaking with fear. The beast crept towards me every step seems pleasurable to it giggling constantly then it was upon me it crouched getting ready for a fatal leap, I was getting ready to die. As the beast was going to spring upon me, the hooded man raised his hand, turned around and roared “Beatrix!!!!! That is quite enough” The beast or Beatrix, instead of pouncing on me, laid down like a dog and turned to face is mysterious master blood stained tongue hanging out, as I turned to look at the man he pulled his knife up and plunged it into the mysterious woman’s throat blood spurted all over his hood, probably in his face as well. She fell to the floor lifeless. Beatrix seemed amused by this act of unnecessary violence I fell to my knees crying for my dead parents the man turned to face me, I stood and faced him. All I could see was his mouth, the rest of his face was covered by the shadow of his hood which was stained by the woman’s blood, his mouth slowly crept into a smile. I ran towards him screaming at the top of my lungs. Beatrix didn’t try and stop me this time he seemed amused by my display of hatred and sorrow. As I got in pouncing range of the mysterious man I jumped, grabbing his neck and wrestled him to the floor, as I did he laughed. I bashed his head to the ground tears flowing freely from my eyes I intended to kill this murderer. Before I delivered my final blow I pulled of his hood so I could see the face of my victim. As I pulled of his hood I jumped off him crawling away from the seeming to be fearless man who was laughing the whole way through my assault. I couldn’t believe what I saw. The mysterious man. The master of the beast that still lay their looking as innocent as a child. The murderer of my Father and the woman. His identity scared me more than anything. It was. Me. Chapter 2 I awoke in a cold sweat. Body aching from tossing and turning in my bed. Tears pouring from my eyes. I am crying over the fake loss of my father, I looked around everything is normal the room I fell asleep in is unchanged, The wind is strong tonight blowing the book on my table open flicking from page to page until it fell of the table. I stood up, walked to the window, I grabbed the latches to close them but something caught my attention two people stood outside I didn’t recognise them due to them wearing hoods, my stomach twisted as I saw the hoods, I remembered me in my dream, they were talking I leaned out of my window climbed onto a near by branch to get within hearing range, I could pick up their convocation. The man closest to my house spoke first. “You have the package Mayser?” I recognised the voice instantly it was my father! “Yes Joseph I have the package, you must remember to keep it safe, we don’t want them to find it” It was a woman’s voice, soft as an angel’s as if she had just fallen from heaven. “Joseph do you think the child is up to it?” I gazed at them confused what did she mean by “is the child up to it?” My father was silent for a moment; I imagined that he had a questioning expression on his face. “I don’t mean to be rude Joseph but I really think that it should be used, you know for a more experienced candidate.” “Mayser…” The sound of a twig snapping made my Father and the woman called Mayser turn to face where the sound came from at an impossible speed. I couldn’t believe my eyes as they turned back towards the house as they just burst into laughter. “Danm cats have the same scent” Mayser laughed as my father was almost on the floor through laughter “Joseph will you pull yourself together if they find out that the package is here then this whole mission is a failure” My father instantly quit laughing got up looked at Mayser nodded his head and spoke almost as a whisper “Yes your right Mayser we have spent to long out here I think its best you return to head quarters and let master know that its been delivered” Mayser nodded and as if by magic she disappeared. I was astonished, I didn’t believe that people could move so fast or use magic I climbed back into my room through the window, shaken, scared and mystified by what I had seen I fell back into a uneasy and restless state of unconsciousness. I awoke to the sun strongly shining through my window. I looked around my beige coloured room. Eyes’ skipping between my wardrobes, draws then finally my desk. My eyes hovered over my desk. Wondering why something looked out of place. I sat for a moment in my dazed state until it stuck me. My book that was blown off my desk last night has been placed neatly on back on it. I got up walked over to my desk in nothing but my undergarments, looking over the desk at the book then I noticed that there was something behind the book. I rubbed my eyes to get as much sleep out of it so I could see clearly as the focus came back to me I froze. The package my father received last night from the mysterious woman Mayser was on my desk! I could only hear one sentence now playing in my head “Do you honestly think the child is up to it?” I stood in complete confusion. I now knew one thing that the child was me but what am I up for? I grabbed the package and my dressing robe then headed downstairs to confront my father about the mysterious package. My father was in the kitchen cooking breakfast when I arrived. He was wearing his brown leather vest which he left unbuttoned and a pair of ruined trousers which he uses for work on our farm. He smiled as I walked through the threshold of the kitchen to the smell of frying bacon cooked on the stove we received from a stranger one year ago. “Is bacon okay for breakfast today Dai?” I scowled at him I hated it when he called me that I do wish he called me by my full name normally I just ignore him until he does that was my plan for today. “Dai?” Sill ignored him “Daigon!” I smiled now looking up to him “Yes, bacon would be fine dad” He let out a roar of laughter as accustomed to my dad when he forgets to use my full name “Sorry son, I forgot you liked your full name instead of the shortened version” As he turned around to check on the bacon I laid the package on the table. “Oh yeah the bacon is going be done real….” He turned around and looked at the package then at my confused expression “That, it came for you this morning” This morning? I saw my father collect it last night, now I am confused my father would never lie to me about anything so why would he lie now? I needed answers. “This morning? But last night as a was closing my window because of the wind I saw you collect the package then from someone in a hood” I tried to make my voice sound as innocent as possible to draw him of the fact I am very suspicious. “It arrived at about three in the morning thus making it morning” He was still laughing about his mistake when I walked through the door. I sat there with a blank expression on my face but my dad knew immediately what I was thinking. “It’s from out of town, so I have no idea who it is from or what it is” This must be something important because now I know he is lying but by then the bacon was cooked and he was putting the bacon on two terracotta plates. I would pursue this later my stomach was growling violently at me. Through breakfast my dad was talking about events he and my late mother went to in the big city Magal and why they moved here to the small village of Tes. A story I have heard over a hundred times. When he had finished his breakfast he paused and let out a sigh. “You know what happened two years ago so I shall not go into that” He was referring to how my mother “Passed away” she went back to Magal to visit her parents and on the way a group of bandits ambushed her and killed her it’s hard to think of my father’s reaction when he heard about it he just fell to his knees and screamed into his hands. I let out a sigh “I know dad I really miss her to” With that he wiped the few tears out of his eyes and rustled my silver hair. “Right then son, are you going to open that danmed package or what?” I looked surprised at him I never knew he was such a good actor he is putting on a very good show his facial expressions give nothing away he is acting like the anticipation of the package is killing him. “Oh, right, yeah” I stammered The paper on the package was stained tea brown and is held together by two pieces of string tied in the middle by a knot and is no bigger that brick. Tied to the string is a tag which reads Daigon Star Tes farm house Tes Outer Country Use it wisely Use it wisely what is that supposed to mean? I looked up my dad retaining his look of anticipation. With out a second thought I opened it to find a box filled with shredded paper much like the paper it came wrapped in I put my hand inside felt something smooth and cold pulled it out with a look of amazement. It was a Crystal. This is as far as i have got so far i will post chapter 3 when it is finished =]
