squidgy617 2 Report post Posted December 23, 2009 Alright, I was wondering. Is there anyway to make VX tilesets compatible with XP. I know that if you change the size it works, but I can't figure out how to put in autotiles for them. Where are they in the VX RTP? Thanks in advance. 0 Tomo2000 60 Report post Posted December 23, 2009 Well, there simply isn't enough autotile slots to fit them. And you would need to use 2 straight away for a single thing or set, if you wanna call 'em that. My friend asked me the same question a few days back and I had only one answer for him; open RMVX, find the tileset, make a 3-by-3 tiled area using it and a + looking thing with it, take it to paint and turn it into an autotile. That would take quite a considerable ammount of work, also. I would work on it but I am busy with my own projects at the moment. Hope that helped. ~Tomo2000. 0 squidgy617 2 Report post Posted December 23, 2009 Alright, so are the autotiles in the tilesets already, or are they in a seperate file?
0 Tomo2000 60 Report post Posted December 23, 2009 For what? RMXP or RMVX?
0 squidgy617 2 Report post Posted December 23, 2009 Whoops, should've specified. I mean VX.
0 Tomo2000 60 Report post Posted December 23, 2009 Yes, they are already in the game. You just cannot access them outside of the editor, I believe. That is why you have to make a 3x3 square and a + symbol (not connecting, obviously) so you can see what you need. Then take a screenshot by pressing the 'Print Screen' button, going onto paint, cutting and pasting and turning them into an RMXP tileset. I will give you an example right after I edit my topic and add the new download version for my game, "Alone".

0 Tomo2000 60 Report post Posted December 23, 2009 2 simple steps, really. This is how its done: Step 1: Get whatever tile you want (a single tile on the VX Tileset) and do this with it with a tile that is nothing but a black square. Step 2: Start an XP tileset like this and add it. You can take mine and add onto it, if you want. Just extend the tileset downwards, but not across. Hope that helps. Enjoy.
