evil cabbage 9 Report post Posted December 29, 2009 I have a huge problem. I bought RMXP about 2 years ago through Protexis and have been using it on my laptop since then. Recently, I upgraded from Vista to 7, which reinstalled Windows and placed the whole of my old Vista OS into a folder called "Windows.Old". I need to get my key back from Protexis, but our email address has changed since I bought RMXP, so I can't access my original serial. I have tried explaining this to Protexis but I have tried contacting them both through their own contact forms and directly via email from my address and our family's address, but it has been ages and Protexis have not uttered a word in reply. There are several obvious solutions, some of which I will need help with. 1.) RMXP must store it's serial info in a file somewhere in the Windows directory. If anybody knows what this file is called, please tell me as I still have the files from my old OS, so I could simply transfer the .dll from Windows.Old to my new OS' Windows folder, so to speak. 2.) The second option is simply purchasing RMXP again, although I would rather not have to do this as I am saving for an external hard drive. 3.) I could of course download it illegally, although this would be my absolute last resort, and please don't tell me where to find illegal downloads and forget I mentioned that. If anyonr has any other suggestions, then please tell me!
Noob Saibot 38 Report post Posted December 30, 2009 Well try a more threatening approach. When I paid for something and am in the same glue you are in now I just send e-mail to say in short: 1) Please response? 2) You can't help me....well give me my money back. 2 fails than simple explanation of turning them in for fraud since they refuse to help usually gets companies to do what they should be doing in the first place. ======================================================================================================================================================================== A better way to handle it would be to attempt to receive help in accessing the e-mail account. Was it Yahoo, Hotmail, or Gmail?
evil cabbage 9 Report post Posted December 30, 2009 The first one was Bigpond Australia, the one I have now is with Dodo Australia. They are email accounts provided by ISP's. Bigpond deleted our email account when we changed to Dodo, which they did not tell us that they were going to do, as the old email still continued to work for about 2 weeks before Bigpond shut it off. But anyway, it's a bit typical but Protexis finally replied with my serial........... about 2 weeks after I originally contacted them *groans*. A message to everyone in the future: Make sure you backup all your product keys. Don't make the same mistake that I did.
com1man 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2009 Hi all, Protexis provides the payments services for Enterbrain RPGMaker products. If you provide them with proof of purchase i.e. original order #, full name, email address used when pruchased, or last 4 characters of the credit card used they can locate the record for your purchase. They will provide you with your serial number quickly after that. You can re-download the product, install and activate it after that. If they cannot locate your purchase transaction they cannot provide a serial number. I hope that helps. com1man
