[ Console war ]

Recommended Posts

Let's talk about the famous console war, because this is the place to do.

I made this topic to know Everyone opinion about the impact in how we purchase, act to others who doesn't like The Xbox,Nintendo or Playstation or vice-versa

Well first let me tell you my Opinion about this Madness.

I Don't like the idea Of "Sony is the best"

or the "Wii is For Kids" or even "Xbox Is much better Because of the HD and games".

In my Whole life I never asked I want more graphic and less hours of gameplay and a control scheme so boring. Seriously why is so important HD?

I don't see the point in there I can still have some fun With my Friends Playing brawl on the Wii.

I'm not saying I'm a Nintendo fanboy, but I like Playing Silent Hill:Shattered Memories

or brawl With my Friends until dawn and that's something Xbox or playstation

doesn't provide their focus is solo or Internet stuff and Xbox comes With a impressive Internet support but you have to pay the same with sony; and an array of useless features.

The gaming console is supposed to be for gaming the good thing Every console of this generation has a Virtual console or arcade blah blah which is good to know they really do care for the oldschool gamers and the games are cheap.

he people are getting crazy for nothing the real gamer is the person who really likes to play games not for is it sony game or Blah blah? by the way i love to play with Friend who have Xbox360 or play but since none of my friends actually have the ps3 well i haven't got the chance to do it so

Overall this need to be stopped before we really start a Real War maybe Will be called "The REAL Console war I".

Sorry for my bad English and this is my first time I post A topic in my life :)

Please say what is on your mind

Simple:

Wii has great gameplay, and an excellent retro-fitted library. However, it does lack in memory and in game-length, most of the time. Lack of good Wii games does hinder the system. RE:DSC, RE4, Deadly Creatures are really the only games I have enjoyed. Sorry, but brawl sort of just... got dull. Their controller is innovative and fun to use; but for some games, It just doesn't want to work. With a great, low failure rate and excellent Customer service, they actually have a well-reliable system.

PS3 has a nice selection of games, but their retro-fitting needs to be supercharged here in the US. Literally, only a handful of PSOne titles for download. Not cool. However, their graphics are phenomenal, and their controller is easy to use. Hasn't changed in ages. Their customer service can get confusing, and their failure rate is fairly low.

XBOX 360... Believe it or not, I was given a 360. Literally given with the red rings. After repairing it, I sold it 2 weeks later. I couldn't find any join in having to pay for LIVE. The controller is not something I can get used to, (feels awkward, when i am used to pressing > on a regular controller, the 360 had me push Down/Left) Customer service always tells you to send in the system (and you get smacked with a fee; unless it is the RRoD) Failure Rate: 57.1%; 2nd Failure Rate: 33.7%. Yeah... not for me.

The only reason why the Wii is a success is the price and this economy. The system is cheap compared to the other systems. People cannot afford the more expensive consoles. The Wii's graphics are not as good as the other consoles. Some games have worse graphics than the GameCube.

1. The Wii was a HUGE hit before the economy tanked.

2. The reason why the Wii is so huge is it attracts people of ALL ages, old, young, man, woman, boy, girl, doesn't matter. With ps3 and 360 geared toward ages 15-25, they are slightly narrowed.

I agree. The reason why some Wii games have bad graphics is the poor development of the game company responsible of the game, since their only concern is to release the game and make some green

Here of it works:

Wii best selling console

mediocre work

?????

Profit$$$

thats one of the reasons why Wii have so many games

and Leon I feel sorry for You. RRoD is a Heart Breaker for Those want to play and well they can't.

unless they buy another thats Microsoft intention

So without reading any posts in the topic I will just voice my opinions on the matter of the current gen Console Wars.

Right now, Nintendo Wii isn't getting a lot of attention like it was a couple years ago. Playstation 3 however is beginning to one up the Xbox 360 with their list of exclusives while the 360 tries to voice itself towards not only the casual gamer market but the Japanese one aswell. This is what I can see from it all: There is no real way of comparing the Wii to either the PS3 or 360. The Nintendo Wii is so vastly different that it isn't even in the same ball park. It would be like comparing the PC to the Xbox, in terms of the console's world. It just doesn't make sense. The PS3 and 360 however have been at each other since the launch of both consoles. Comparing those is no problem at all. The real question however is not "which is better," but "which appeals to YOU".

If I may be so bold to say so, I personally enjoy the Xbox 360 over any other platform. Reason being, is because of the number of games available to me appeal to me more than the PS3's lineup does. I also enjoy a wider range of a community, as most of my friends play online games on the 360 as opposed to the PS3 (however the PS3 online community is growing by leaps and bounds). Now with that said, I also would love to spend the cash required to buy a Playstation 3. The exclusive lineup is astounding and quite frankly, it is a more powerful system. Again, I would also enjoy a Wii. It would be perfect for side screen games when my friends would come over.

All I'm trying to say that there is no real console war, only one in the eyes of either over-obsessed fanboys that are willing to kill themselves because an exclusive title goes multiplatform. To the rest of the public, consoles are not divisions between gamers but more of the different roads we take; each leading to a satisfying and overall fun experience. Isn't that all we want from video games? As a medium, it is the same as any other form of entertainment. They are there to fill however many hours with a fun experience. We should enjoy what each console has to offer, and appreciate it for its strengths not bash it for its weaknesses.

Those are my two cents anyways. I would go on about the fanboys over the Final Fantasy XIII thing but that is for a different day.

Personally, I don't really like any of the next gen consoles. I just stuck with my PS2 and I have a gaming PC. The reason I haven't gone for next-gen consoles is because (especially with the PS3), the games can get up to $100, even more. Some computer games are also climbing up the price ladder now. The Sims 3 costs $99 where I live, for instance.
