MLK

Recommended Posts

I have thought about something for awhile, and I want everyone's opinion on this.

MLK was a great man. He made many speeches. His dream speech is one of greatest speeches of all time.

Now on the other hand men like Marshall went to court to overturn the segration laws in the United States.

In my personal opinion men like Marshall deserves more credit than King. These men risk their lives on a high level. These men fought in court. They lost battles, but they also won major battles. Giving a speech is great, but changing the law is changing the definition of how we live our lives.

Who do you think deserves the most credit of the Civil Rights Moment?

Rosa Parks. Takes a lot of guts for an African american man to stand up and say "I have a dream...", but true glory goes to the woman who told a white guy 'No'. Granted, she wasn't the first, but she was the one that started the Montgomery Bus Boycott and sparked things ablaze.

Alright guys, I've done a LOT of research on Dr.Rev.Mr.King and you need to know, "speeches" was not his only "thing".

the man faught bravely in the middle of any racist stage, from courts, to speeches, to riots, all to where he himself was also put in jail.

Dr.King had bricks thrown at him, his wife, his KIDS, house constantly abused, and yet he never gave up.

Could you imagine how hard it is to make the decision to knowingly put your family in danger?

I mean yea Marshall deserves more credit as well. But in our African American History (yay the month is coming... although its a constant reminder that they gave African American Month the SHORTEST DAMN MONTH...) Dr.King and Malcolm X will be the main "Two" to remember.

As Dr.King was always PEACEFUL, and X was always the Violent one. Its the symbol of the yin and yang of our culture and im proud to be soon Head DM of my high school "Martin Luther King Jr. High School"
