CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 Okay, I'm watching the Black List and I was thinking...how in the world will we ever -- ever -- make all races, religious and nationality, equal if we have these kind of shows? I'm not racist, if that's what you are thinking (please don't think that >.>) I just want to know why we create such things when we want to be equal. How does this help the cause of becoming equal? I don't see how it helps, I see how it separates us even more... :( Having months dedicated to a race, gender or nationality will not make us equal, it will continue to drive the race, religious people, gender and nationality -- away from each other. What do you guys think about this? I was watching and it does sadden me there are racist people, but how do you guys think this will make us all equal (months or whatever else dedicated to a race, gender or nationality)? What's your take on it?
Leon 55 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 There will always be hatred due to race. Hell, I have 2 brothers which are racist, and for no reason. Pisses me off, but nothing you can do about it.
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 What do you think these kinds of things will cause though? Do you think it'll help make us all equal?
Chief 30 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 No, black history month? Where is my white history month? Oriental history month? Austrailian history month? Haitian history month? Sure, these are not all races, but all different, diverse people. We shouldnt have such segregation among months and celebrating different colors of skin. why does it amtter if the skin color doesnt matter? I'm not saying to disband the black history month, but I'm saying I dont agree with it really.
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 Neither do I. I can understand Martin Luther King, Jr day, but...seriously, black history month? There is a women's awareness month if I can remember, but that isn't really for a gender, but...I mean, come on! We are trying to make everyone equal, not separate them like this. We need to stop this. If people really want to be equal, they wouldn't do this. *shakes head*
formlesstree4 18 Report post Posted March 16, 2010 If we were to found a "White History Month", we'd be shot for racism. It's due to history mostly...the White Race has been known to oppress the other races. Karma has come to bite us on the a** so to speak. What if certain things never happened (the Union failed to win the Civil War for example). Where would society be? I'm not really sure what to say on this subject because I'm a bit blunt (and have been called racist just for pointing out facts and statistics...go figure) about things, so maybe I better stop before I get carried away.
