You Won't Believe This....

It seems to be a trend that every book is being made into a movie nowadays. Now, it seems there is a new trend on the rise: making video games into movies. I know that there have been video games made into movies before, but that's not my point... this is different........

This is no joke; the Spyro the Dragon series is being made into a movie and is apparently due to be released sometime in April (US) and November/December (ROW). Here are a few links to look at:

World of Warcraft... Kane & Lynch... Bioshock... Now Spyro. They have all got sunk a screening of games.

I loved the spyro games as a kid :D

When you think about it, games are like interactive movies, just not really. They both have storylines. I don't know why, perhaps because brother is an extreme case of this, it bugs me when people completely dismiss a movie because of its rep, where its from(a game, or an anime). Its just annoying, lets judge the thing after we watch it.

Elijah wood seems like a good choice for spyro though.

Oh my. Not a game I ever pictured being reinvented into a movie. I still remember sitting around on my PS1 and playing Spyro.. Lol. I might have to go find that bad boy again sometime. =)

Wow! I never expected this series to ever get a movie made. This is a very bad idea.

Same...the newer Spyro games aren't the same as the old ones :(

...Wish they would have gone with Metroid. Don't know why they canceled it a while back. :(

There are a few games I would like to see in movie form; a couple of which will be:

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

Castlevania

But, the one that should be a movie: Gun. Damn that would have been sweet.

Actually,I think the movies could work, but they would need to remake the first movie and it would need to be LONGER!

As for the Spyro movie, I think if they aim it solely at young children then it might work, but if they try for any higher than ten, they I think it will really flop. Unfortunately, judging by the opening music (which completely drew me in), it sounds like they may be trying to broaden the audience for this movie, which I don't think will work.

It'll work. The games are popular and fun, with great music. :D

Eragon movie wasn't as good as the book, but I did love the baby dragon ^.^

If they make another, they need to make it more like LoTR. :P
