I need some basic help with scripting

I know absolutely nothing about scripting and have had little luck in learning. I have a list of things I want to change in my RPG. Here it is:

 

 

-Scripting needs-

Custom main menu

Character speech

Battle system

Inventory

Morale bar

 

I need to know where to start so I can work with scripting. A good general tutorial would be good. Something that assumes that I am both completely new to programming and borderline retarded would be preferred.

For scripting, Leon's scripting classes has some nice tutorials for people who dont know anything about scripting.

Its mainly based around windows.

 

Making a battle system will require master scripters help. I dont know of any battle system tutorials. Just to let you know, it takes months to make a battle system.
