Tileset Editing Error?

Question

Okay, I'll cut right to the chase, as I'd like to get back to work ASAP.

I'm trying to change the transparency of my OverWorld tileset, which is required to make all the towns and routes for my game.

But every time I open it up in the Materials, and Import the image so I can change the transparencies, I get this error: Critical Error C0000005 at address 004B52A8, and then RMXP immediately shuts down.

Can someone help me combat this freakin' annoying problem?

First, to make transparent tilesets, it should be in *PNG.

If your tilesets in this format, try to put the transparency using the graphical editor, not in the RPG Maker.

Well, I meant the Transparent Color in the tilesets. Everytime I try to change the transparent color in this one set, it does the error... But the others work just fine.

I have never heard of this error...

What you can do is open up your tileset in photoshop or whatever and make the background transparent, and then make your transparency color 50% transparent. So its exactly the same as setting the transparency in RMXP, except when you import it (or just past it in the folder) it will not ask you to set the transparency color. Perhaps that's a work around.

Don't know if you have it patched but here is the official patch to rid that exact error.

http://tkool.jp/products/rpgxp/eng/patches.html

If that don't work, what Operating System are you using?

EDIT: Dont know if it will get rid of your trial or not.

Problem solved. Oddly enough, it started working again... I'm beginning to think that viruses are ravaging my computer, because now MS Paint is starting to screw up as well...

Oh, and where can I get one of those nifty bar meters like everyone else has that tells of the game's progress?
