Monthly Database Optimise

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

Every month, I will be repairing and optimising the database for the forum. This should ensure that the forum runs faster and smoother. If you notice the site running slow at all, please post here and I will get right on it. I will post here whenever I optimise and repair the database, and for easy finding, it will be pinned.

Thanks,

~Isaac~

Seems like a good idea isaacsol. Thanks for making RMXPU fast and efficient :alright:

Well, it's pretty slow to load when opening the index page.

Hmm.. I don't think that these are to do with the database, but with the actual coding. I will let Mark now when I see him.

Just noticed that the messenger opens slower than most of the pages in RMXPU

The index (im assuming of the website) may be slow because of a high number of queries as we're trying to display as much new content as possible. Try disabling the user panel (which will be upgraded soon).

At the moment I'm allocating all the time I'm willing to spend on the site toward a new look, as well as another reshaping of the forum structure. Loading time is far down the list because we have bigger things to worry about. I think the community is weaker than ever, and I want to rebuild everything.

There have been no changes to the core coding of the messenger system, so for now it can't be helped. Though I will do my best to code efficiently where i do, and keep the software up to date.
