evil cabbage 9 Report post Posted April 25, 2010 A game I am thinking of purchasing off Steam or Direct2Drive is Dragon Age: Origins. Click here to read my little rant on why I won't buy DA or any other game from a store unless I have to. Anyway, -What is it like?/Is it any good? It certainly looks good from the screenies I've seen. -What kind of combat system does it have? -About how long will it immerse you for? -What kind of content is in the game (by that, I mean content in terms of violence, sexual content, goriness, etc) - as there is no demo, I need to determine whether I would be allowed to play it. -Is there a demo available? (a link would help) Thanks
Arkbennett 16 Report post Posted April 25, 2010 I've beaten Dragon Age about 4 times now. If I had the money, I would certainly buy the game. The combat system is like a third person Tales of Symphonia, or even closer to KOTORII. You can be three classes, Warrior, Rogue, or a Mage. And within those classes you can pick a race, Human, Elf, Dwarf. And within those Races you choose what type. Noble Human, City Elf, Dalish Elf, Mage, Dwarf Commoner, Dwarf Noble. You can have 3 others party members in your party. The game is about 20 hours long, but has high re playability due to multiple branching paths throughout the game. Almost every situation has at least two ways of playing them out. There is a social system in the game, your decisions and gift giving depends on your party members feelings towards you. As they all have a standard good or evil alignment or even a personal perception of what is good and evil. There is a fair amount of gore and sexual content (I hear of Nude Mods on PC) Not sure what else to tell you, if you have any questions, ask. I played this game like a religion. evil cabbage 9 Report post Posted April 26, 2010 Okay. In terms of the content (without mods, just as it ships) what is the gore comparable to? By that, I mean is it comparable to Oblivion, or is it as gory as say Bioshock for instance.
Arkbennett 16 Report post Posted April 26, 2010 I'd say it's in between, it's gorier than Oblivion but less gorier than Bioshock. At one point in the game someone gets crushed by an orge monster and he is just blood soaked. The characters also have a habit of chopping enemy heads off at random when wield a sword.
