So basically, its this website who has this contest for designing(Not making) a game. And the winner is fully funded to make this game! Sound to good to be true? Well then enter. Here are some details: What To Do: The aim of this contest is to test your imagination and not your game making skills. You must design a game of any genre and create a game plan. Your game plan must include: *The Full Storyline *Any Mini Games and how they are played *A Menu layout description *A description of all the systems used (e.g. battles, messages, quests, ammo) *All Names (e.g. characters, titles) *A List of Gaming Staff and what Staff Positions are needed *Anything else you think of! You must type your Game Plan up in Wordpad or Microsoft Works Word Processor. And: Winner will receive full support and funding to create his/her game. When the winner is announced he/she will be contacted and the game creation process will be discussed. If the winner does not wish to create his/her game then a runner-up will be selected but will not receive funding, only support from Giga Software. Funding includes financial support according to a budget discussed in the initial meeting. Support includes Advice and help to get you through the creation process, A full page on our website dedicated to your game, Advertising throughout the web, anything you need Giga Software will help get it, and lots more! Giga Software Some people thought this may be good to be true, and that you wouldnt get the money or something. But is it worth entering just to find out? I mean, all you have to do is design a game. Many people out there in the gaming community foolishly throw themselves into projects, groups, teams, etc, without knowing what the heck they are doing or going to do. It then creates panic within the group, since no real goal is set and ideas are lost in the process. A contest like this motivates game developers to actually develop the FULL game or project before diving into the coding, eventing, graphics, and all that other stuff that serves as an fork in the road for everyone else. :D I like it! I've been slacking off in the games department and a contest like this would definitely motivate me to pick up my pencil, close the door, and start writing and planning something that might be funded or supported. Marked 197 Report post Posted January 1, 2007 That makes sense. I may enter this aswell, nothing to lose right? Its just that storylines and plots arnt my strong point. This contest would be great for a team though. If there was a team of about 4 or more designers working on one game. And if they win, they would get it funded. I have an google refferal at the bottom of the forum to get money for us. We could also have like a contest here, thats for that contest there. Once done, we get someone to mix it all together and combine it into an amazing game. That would be cool.
