[XP] Constant Movement

Question

Alright, I can't figure out how to do this, so I thought I'd just ask it here.

I'm working on a game that will have "highway" portions, where your character, riding a motorbike, is constantly moving forward. Left and right will "change lanes" (as in, move to the cell to that direction), but you will still be constantly moving forward, without stopping and changing directions. Its hard to explain, so I'll just show a picture example.

As you can see, the character is constantly moving forward. In the second frame, he continues to move forward when he shifts to the right. Basically, I'm hoping for a way to make this happen on activation with an event or something like that. Thanks in advance for the help.

Oh it would be easy in Game Editor(but your not using that) try including a flash game of some sort that does that in the game. I actually needed this before in the pass but couldn't find a solution.<_<

I think we may be looking to solve the same problem. Perhaps. In my game my first scene is inside a train, which is all well and good, a few screen shakes every second give the impression of movement as long as there is ambient sound. However, outside the train - on the carriage - it just won't do. So my thinking is to get a speeding panorama script. A long panoramic landscape to shoot by from right to left. Or left to right, y'know, whatever.

I imagine you could employ the same technique with your road, for example, underneath your sprites. Going top to bottom.

However, I've no idea how to do this. But there's my idea. If you find a way, let me know :)

Maybe a Set Player route would work? On just up?

I'm just gaining the editor's tabs and understanding them, but the set player's route might just work ^.^
