FranklinX 37 Report post Posted May 10, 2010 To my fellow Christians have you ever question your faith? Has something went so wrong that you would wonder why God would allow it to happen? Well that is what I am at right now in my life because of a recent event occurred. To the non-believers have any happen to you which made you think there could be a God? Decadenttia 2 Report post Posted May 10, 2010 Pagans like me could tell it's not necesary being Christians to believe in a "god". Depens on the pagan believes (wikka, elements and so) some of us don't call it/her/him "God" or imagine an old man with white bear, but currently speak about an ultimate "thing". Maybe the human-shape type, maybe something more like energy. Maybe all at the same time. I dont' believe in the christian god or panteon and it really bothers me when someone tries to force me to believe in what he believes. I don't hurt anyone. I don't search my own profit against other's people. And basically I don't want anything that comes from a religion that considerated until recently women were no more than no-soul things-that-make-babies. I want to apologize for whatever my words could upset someone but this is what I really feel. Dont' know who's wrong or who's right but the joke of all is that we will discover it at the end... or not.

This is what I tell people all the time that try to get me to believe in a God. We will find out at the end if I was wrong or if you were right. The idea of a god for anyone is really a comforting idea, nobody wants to accept nothingness as their final destination. That's how I look at it. A lot of people use God as a higher power. They can't go through life on their own. They need to believe that there is someone they can blame when things go wrong. They need someone to pray to, to make things right. I have accepted nothingness as my final destination. I shall be buried. End of story. Life is over.

isaacsol 10 Report post Posted May 10, 2010 I have been brought up as a devout Jew. I believe in G-d with all my heart, but of course I do not impose my beliefs onto other people. In regards to how He can stand aside during the suffering going on, I believe that due to the fact we are made with free-will, He cannot interfere with our actions, as it would infringe on our free-will. When it comes to what comes after, I believe that man is just earning their immortality back on earth, to return to Gan Eden (Garden of Eden). It is something that keeps me going and makes me happy. ^_^

Joko 1 Report post Posted May 11, 2010 I personally don't really care if there is a god because its not gonna matter when you die cause your dead XD.....you have a 33.3% chance on where you go. Nowhere, heaven(any good place any religion talks about), hell (some bad place that sounds stupid). But how i personaly believe is i don't know. if he does he has not proven it to me in anyway. (he's like a stalker if you think about it). and if he does i'd wish he'd show us rather then make us believe with out proof.

Joko 1 Report post Posted May 11, 2010 Sounds like a Death Note reference lol Haha i love that show :biggrin_002: did they really say something like that in it? well its true. religion can't prove everything but nor can science. "God/Religion/Belief" is one of the biggest mysteries, other then aliens, area 51,and ghosts. Well all i have to say is either way if he exists or something does or if he doesn't/something i don't really care because either way i will live my life to what i believe the fullest is. I'd rather not worry about religion or anything because in my opinion "which all of this is" because i think it blinds oneself. It could potentially hide who you really are. and what you could of been. it affects your choices like say oh i don't want to do this god will send me to "hell". Its just kind of a way to keep people in control is how i feel. I'd rather not have strings attached :) by the way no offense to anyone if i offended you i am truly sorry. i am not trying to change ones beliefs only sharing mine. By no means do i attend to hurt you so please don't take it that way. sorry :(
isaacsol 10 Report post Posted May 12, 2010 it affects your choices like say oh i don't want to do this god will send me to "hell". Its just kind of a way to keep people in control is how i feel. Hell was a dogma created by the Catholic church a few hundred years ago to make people follow the doctorines of the religion. At the time, people saw that there was no punishment if they didn't follow the doctorines, so they didn't see the need to. Thus a need for an eternal punishment was created to prevent people from sinning.

rgangsta 43 Report post Posted May 13, 2010 I, personally, believe in God. But not the traditional Christian way where I follow every rule to the letter in the Bible and always happy all the time with a huge ass grin. I think that God and science co-exists. My point is that God and the Big Bang theory go hand in hand like so: God created the the stars then the big bang happened, God populated the earth with dinosaurs, then threw angels down from Heaven (Lucifer/Satan among them) which wiped out the dinosaurs and cavemen, then God remade the earth with Adam and Eve. I know some people don't believe in God, but I mean c'mon. You can't possibly tell me that an explosion made everything. If it was like that, how come there's no life on other planets? How come we're not evolving? Look how balanced our world is with seasons and climates. Look how our veins have valves that stop the flow of blood from back tracking. Look how sperm is a base and in a woman's vagina is acid, thus the sperm is protected while travelling and the acid can kill bacteria (I'm sorry I had to go there but it's true). I know you guys may think "How was God created?" and I honestly don't know that answer. But you can at least believe in a higher power. A creator... I won't judge anyone for their beliefes because I don't think it really matters. The person's mind is their own and I can't change it (watch out for Jehova witnesses). So Frank, if you lose faith, that's just too bad. And for the people who think that God is cruel, it's not what it looks like. It's all just a test to see if you'll hate him. And that "Rapture" thing is bullsh*t. Everyone is gonna be stuck on the earth and tortured by Satan and many people will hate God because He doesn't come and help which is what is happening today. The people who remain loyal are the ones who get to go to Heaven. Sometimes I question and ask "If He knows everything, why does He need to test us and see what we do?" or "Maybe He's not all that powerful". Maybe he gets a kick out of it....I don't know. All I know is that He created me and I love him...no homo... And just a heads up: Jesus will return when the whole world has heard about Him...so don't go spreading the word too fast or else you'll cause us all to come closer to the apocalypse. P.S. For the future, please, no one make a topic like this because it can lead to problems. People have different views on religion and they can get mad if you say the wrong thing. P.S.S. I don't go crying to God when something goes wrong like most people do. I rarely pray. When I pray, I always ask for protection (I still know I may die which is why I have a less fear of death..I'm still scared though) and that's it, and for sins, I just keep commiting the sin until I see how harmful it is and when I trully feel bad about it, that's when I repent. FranklinX 37 Report post Posted May 13, 2010 I do believe there is a God. I do not believe in the big bang theory. How can an atom create the universe when nothing existed? Since nothing existed how did an atom exist? Something made all of us and the universe. Science and religion can go hand in hand. Science can be seen as how God works or how he makes the world work. Everyone in this world will go through problems. God is testing us and trying to make us better people. He wants us to get stronger in life. However there are some things we can never escape from. Through my own personal experience by being seen as too physically ugly to date by women has made me question God. Why does he always want me to get rejected? Why did he give me deformed ears? Why did he make all good women fine me to be ugly? These are only questions God can answer.

Chief 30 Report post Posted May 14, 2010 I promised myself wouldnt post in here, but I feel the need, lol. I'm a christian, and first off, Rgangsta, a lot of what you said I find to be wise and true, although some was a bit off. Anyways, the whole topic about religion is a scary thing when you're a christian. Its not like we feel a need to force anything on anyone, its that we feel that because the Bible is Truth, and God exists, shouldnt we share this knowledge? the problem is, Christians get a bit carried away and vehement when trying to convey a message of salvation, so most interpret it as forceful and hostile. I tell you now, this is not our intentions, unless you come across street evangelists that hole up signs and shout stupid things. Theres a lot about Knowing God that isnt explained to people anymore. They hear Christianity and think, wow, a bunch of happy, brain washed, ignorant, shallow, forceful, hostile people. I tell you now, this is not Christianity. I think the best way for this to continue, if it were to ever, is if you guys (and gals) would like to ask me questions about Faith, the Bible, God, Jesus, and salvation. Now, most of you don't care, or some have other beliefs, and alright, I would never force anything on anyone, but I can assume you might be curious as to what and why I believe, and it may help explain to you the True innerworkings of Christianity, and the belief in monotheism. isaacsol 10 Report post Posted May 14, 2010 I never heard of this. Can you provide me some links to this information? I would love to read the background behind this. :) Read through the Old Testament, preferably an accurate translation from the Hebrew, not from the Bible as it has been horrible translated into the Bible, and you will see there is no mention of a Hell. If you look into the New Testament, there is not a big mention of hell at first until it gets later into the New Testament. Also, if you want to know why I would know this, I went to a Roman Catholic school ^_^

Knowing civilization as we are today, we are, on average an ignorant race. Ignorant through arrogance, pride, intelligence, basic common sense, and etc. Nobody is devoid of this. I find it hard to believe that people several hundred years ago are capable of accurately translating Ancient Hebrew into English, accurately. I already know that through its translations, the bible has been modified. This is evident. But I wonder if the initial translation is even right in the first place...? FranklinX 37 Report post Posted May 14, 2010 There is a huge problem with the bible. There are tons of Marys. One is said to be a prostitute. However, historians know that she was not a prostitute. I don't think she was a prostitute either but i think there are a lot of things are wrong with the bible. because it was written so long ago i wouldn't be surprised if most things in the bible are most likely converted to modern languages wrong. I cant think of the word is called but i hope you get what im saying haha. by the way what the guy up there was meaning is that god created space. (means all the atoms and crap) so the big bang theory came next (where everything was made) then he made everything else. kind of weird but okay haha. Not really, there is no difference really between ancient languages and modern languages at the core. The only differences are the modern terms for new items. Other then that, you can get an accurate translation of the original. I speak Biblical Hebrew, and can very easily translate the Torah into English so that it keeps accuracy and fluency. FranklinX 37 Report post Posted May 15, 2010 There are some books taken out of the original bible. The Roman government decided which books should be in the bible. Noob Saibot 38 Report post Posted May 16, 2010 I believe the Bible is a work of fiction. It is the oldest book in the world (regardless of religion as most have similarities) and just like I tell one person something when it gets to person 100 it will not be the same. Then one must ask what is god? Or should I say gods as the bible (old and new testament) refers to two sections about GODS and not GOD. In truth if god existed he would be an alien life form no doubt created during the big BANG or so some believe.
