Clothing Sizes

Recommended Posts

I really hate that clothing companies are not consistent with clothing sizes. One company's medium maybe another company's large. Sometimes the type of shirt can be different sizes for the same company. I brought a large white undershirt at Wal-Mart, and I brought a large white shirt at Target. The Wal-Mart shirt fits just fine. However, the shirt from Target is like an XXL version of the shirt I got at Wal-Mart Sometimes I have to try on a shirt and then go find another size smaller or a little bit bigger. I love to shop but this hurts the fun experience. Yes I am a man who loves to shop. :)Companies should have an universal clothing size scale and be more consistent.

What do you guys of clothing sizes being so inconsistent?

I hate clothing sizes! One day a Size 16 might be a Size 16 but then the next it'll be a Size 10 or Size 22. It's just so annoying. I find that Target (the shop) is the worst when it comes to this. This just frustrates me to no end. I don't understand what the hell goes on in Target and stores like that around here, because when I went to Sydney last year everything was the right size, a Size 16 was ALWAYS a Size 16, and so on, so forth. There's this high rise in Sydney that's about 80 stories high and its just all shops. On the first floor is a book shop that, not only takes up half the 1st floor, but has an upstairs and downstairs. God, I could have stayed in there for hours, and I did :D . Anyway, my Grandparents in Sydney know the kinda clothes I like to wear and they got good sizes so each year for Christmas they'll ask what size of clothing I am and send me some.

P.S. - I hate Target...

I personally don't have a problem, then again I buy over-sized clothes to start with. Like 2XXL shirts. Baggy shorts and pants. So they always big. :-p

I wear one size bigger then what I normally wear since the clothes will shrink a bit in the wash. Planning ahead, in a way :P

Also, I like target, so don't insult it that much. I can agree with the sizes, but they still have good things there.

Clothing sizes have been always a mess in Spain.

Same sizes of two diferent manufacturer can be really diferent.

Our size system was first only about numbers. The smallest sizes (children and so) used to be numbers to 34. (24.. 28.. 30...etc).

Henceforward (is this word correct?)are young and adult sizes.

Actually letter sizes (S,M,XL ..) coexist with our obsolete system.

I'm always in trouble with cloth sizes since my childhood. I'm slight (another word that I'm not sure if it's correct.. sorry) so I really don't fit at all in the clothes I like. They're bigger for me or Larger or wider.

My other trouble is for my taste in dressing.

Lately I needed to change shoes. I spent hours searching for a pair of black sneakers for me. Impossible. Always the same "I'm sorry. this model is only for boys. Sizes start at number 40."

I really hate go shopping.
