Yeah, well we are not taught that sex is a bad thing to do. Obviously from my last post, I heard that in america they teach that sex is bad and try and get youths to stop doing it. Even in some cases telling ridiculous lies to prevent them from doing it. Thats just what I heard, obviously dont know if its true. Here we have sex education where the emphasis is on safe sex, dont get pregnant and screw up ur lives. No scare tactics.

Yes they do try to scare us out of sex here. At the same time though, we do have sex classes in school that teach about safe sex too.

 

 

Franklin, I have to ask, where the "F" do you live? I've lived all over America and sex is always talked. I don't know anyone really scared to talk about it. Then again maybe it's just me. I know girls that are virgins and won't even think about sex, then the talk to me. Next thing I know they talking about it. I don't know, I just don't know people scared to talk about sex. I don't know if I can't completely agree with this entire sentence. Perhaps it is because you are religious?

 

I work at Denny's and I see girls come in all the time dressed provocatively. My co-workers and I all discuss sex from time to time, either as a joke, or a "Don't you hate it when..." conversation.

 

And more religious than other nations? America is no where near more religious than our middle-eastern counterparts. My Pakistani manager has told me some stories. And if you look at our history, we have never gone to war over religion, something many other nations have done, but that is a contemporary outlook on things.

 

I do agree with the hell thing. That is why I stopped believing.

 

Religions have spread propaganda in America about sex, making up negative effects. When really it's all positive. I created a baby, I love her. 19 With a baby and she hasn't ruined my life like people say.

I just slept through the class since it wasn't important, and boring (and I passed it somehow. Weird, really weird). But I agree with Leon, the dangers should be warned. If no ones listens to the warnings, well then that's their fault and they can't complain later if something happens. After all, they were warned.

I dont think scare tactics is the best way to go. I think the safe sex is a good idea but i think they need to do A LOT more.

You cant just be like oh wear a condom and try not to get a STD. They need to have something interesting and fun to watch

or kids will just space off in class not caring anything about it. (im sort of one of those kids haha).

 

Also you cant just say all the bad things you still need to explain the good things like

 

1.Having a kid when ready

2.Showing love to someone

 

I think Sex and alcohol and drugs need to all be explain better at schools in stuff not just saying there bad.

Like my school we do diffrent things then normal schools and our teacher said this to us

Violent movies are classified for ages 16 and more.. but movies with mature themes are for 18 and so..

In the case of spanish cinema is exactly the opposite. Boobs are not so worrying as fights. Both cases are worthy of study.

It's pointless to generalize about how sex is treated in America for three reasons:

 

1: Most of us only live in the United States and are powerless to speculate as to the sexual attitudes of Canada, Mexico, etc.

2: Just speaking for my country, Statesians are very diverse. No two of us are likely to concur on every subject - and none of us can agree on any of them, including sex.

3: Different states have differing majorities with different attitudes. States like New York, Florida, and California tend to be more sex-positive. States like Massachusetts, Utah, and my home state of Idaho tend to be less so.

 

However, to make a generalization that seems to be fairly accurate for the whole of the country, most of the people who do not wish to talk about sex are older individuals and/or those with strictly religious or socially conservative upbringings - those who were raised to believe that sex was obscene and not to be talked about. This idea is going out of vogue in more recent years, which has led to those who still hold them assuming that since we're not afraid to talk about it any more we won't be afraid to do it anymore (in the sense of promiscuity, earlier sexual activity, same-sex sexual activity, etc.). This is complete nonsense. Everyone on planet Earth does it, whether they talk about it or not (except in a few very conservative countries where the loss of a hymen can mean death, and sometimes even then). But they keep having fits about it because they're convinced that it was all invented by the liberal media to corrupt their children or something like that.

 

The rest of them don't talk much, so I don't know.

Its the same in new zealand. But to me the rules make sense. When you think about, teens having sex is harder to stop than teens buying porn. You can restrict what is sold, but you can't restrict the interactions between people. So many people do it before 16. I think its more there for parents to charge males for having sex with their underage daughters (in most cases). I would say that thats the most breach of that particular law.

Yeah but thats if you believe in god. I suppose god needs to be involved in this topic as the "sex is bad" thing comes from religion.

 

This probably isn't a good thing to say. But if humans invented the concept of marriage, then technically couldn't religion be (narrowly viewed) as a set of rules? Therefore if it is by a persons lifestyle that sex is bad due to their region, thats that, and we dont need to involve it in the discussion. That makes sense right...

Well I think sex is ok if you know what you are doing of course, but i think youths are making this world suffer because a youth cannot study anymore and has to work.

What you could do is ask every sexual partner to go the clinic and get tested to see if they have anything. Of course there STD's that can go unnoticed for periods of time, so this does remove the risk there in terms of STD's.
