CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted May 26, 2010 Okay....I've just recently figured out how to make somewhat decent scenes in VX and XP. Yes, I finally got it reinstalled. But...that's only 'cause I have Windows 7, which I have to say, is really lame :c Anyway, while I'm learning about Variables and things like that, I'm creating little shows to put up on Youtube. Nothing special, but something like maybe 10-15 minutes long featuring FF characters and other game characters. Its just a little thing I'm doing for fun on Sundays from now on. It'll help me get better with VX and XP. The show is currently in VX, as I adore the character models. I'm sad that there aren't a lot of tilesets -- which in my opinion, is why XP is better -- but I like it and it'll do for now. So, I'm here to ask a question. Does anyone know of good, free software that will record my gameplay in great quality -- and sound, I really need the sound :) -- that I can use to put my videos up? I've done searches through google and tried loads of them, but they records in bad quality and have no sound... So, anyone have any? lol Thanks for reading! Polraudio 122 Report post Posted May 26, 2010 You can try Cam Studio http://camstudio.org/
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted May 26, 2010 Cam doesn't record sound unless I buy it....unless I never knew how to make the sound work? lol Oh...I just read it, I need something called WaveAudio installed as a device :c EDIT: Never mind! I had to go to the admin control panel to my PC and allow the speakers to be recorded. Why wouldn't I want that? Windows, you dumb lol Thanks, Lucas! :) *huggles*

CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted May 26, 2010 I have a little video to show how much (well, you guys taught me much, I just couldn't really process it all) I've learned, which is really a little for the time I've spent here lol Anyway, I'll have it up. Its in VX, and it doesn't really mean anything. Its just a show of my recent talent ^.^
FranklinX 37 Report post Posted May 26, 2010 How do I allow my speaks on my laptop to be record? What did you do?
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted May 27, 2010 You have to go to the sound configuration in your Control panel and enable it. But I should probably let you know that once I allowed it, it stopped the audio on Youtube -- and youtube only, which is odd. But then I disabled it and then it worked, I had to turn the internet off. Maybe its my PC. My sound is RealTEK, so yours is probably different...
FranklinX 37 Report post Posted May 27, 2010 Can you please be more clear? What I do I have to go to? What is the name of the options you are clicking? I looked and did not say anything related to recording the game. I only see options for my own voice.
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted May 27, 2010 Which system are you using and what kind of video card do you have? Find that out first, as its important. And make sure you downloaded the EXE file, not the self compile versions of the recorder. Now, go into CamStudio and click "options". I'll have the images up in a sec.... Okay, here are the steps. I can trust you know how to get to your Control Panel. First, open CamStudio and then click "Options". Now check the below: And then click the selected and select the right audio/recording/video card your PC has in it. Now go to your control panel. If you don't see whats in this image, go to the top right and click the tab and make sure it says "small" and not "category". That way, you can see it all. Click sound and set up the speakers that CamStudio asks for. I knew because when I selected Speakers in Cam, it said an audio problem with RealTEK, so I knew what I was doing. But then its different now that I uninstalled and reinstalled... So now, set up your audio the way Cam needs it. Unfortunately, you can't use my sound settings, as we might have different cards. But if you are having trouble with it, take a screenshot (PrintScreen and then paste in graphic program, Save and upload) and show me all your audio options. I might be able to help. CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted May 27, 2010 Ah, same for me! Okay, we on the right track! Okay, what video/sound cards do you have? Follow the above steps to get to the sound options int eh Control panel and screenshot all the options you have in the drop-down selection box.
FranklinX 37 Report post Posted May 27, 2010 I am guessing these are the sound cards and options?
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted May 27, 2010 Sorry 'bout that, father had to use the PC lol Oh....wait, you won't be able to record. You need this: You need to have "Stereo Mix" all you have is Microphone. Do you have speakers? And if so, do you currently have a microphone alive (working in the desktop) or installed on the PC? If so, uninstall it and see if it works, otherwise, you won't be able to CamStudio...
Arkbennett 16 Report post Posted May 27, 2010 Guess you beat me too it, yeah, CamStudio is my weapon of choice as well.
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted May 27, 2010 Maybe you could help Rated? He doesn't have a Stereo Mix, it allows the RealTEK to record with CamStudio....
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted May 28, 2010 No need to double post, but I found a even better recorded. Go to google and type "Screen Recording program free" only if this doesn't get you to the site: "Free Screen Recorder" that's the actual name of it. It recorded my video just now in a great quality. Here's hoping it stays that way on youtube lol You guys should try it and see how it works.
