So I'm making this thread...you know, that system Nintendo randomly announced a while ago. What do you think about it so far...I can't wait to see the thing. (then again I won't be able to see the 3D effect at E3 on a regular screen anyways, lol) Still though, I think its gonna be awesome. Bring any topic up about the thing, talk about it...like the whole rumors about it being as powerful as a PS3 (a laughable rumor, lol).

Anyway, are there images? I hope it looks kinda like the N64, I don't want another hand-held. I would like to see Nintendo bring in a serious system again and beat out the others with its amazing powers! :D

I always used IGN. And what do you mean by hoping it looks like the N64? That's the DS if you're talking about graphics, lol. This one will most likely have GameCube graphics.

Yeah there will be a live stream of E3. It will be easy to find once E3 begins.

 

The 3DS.. Hrmm... I don't really know what to say about it, considering we practically know nothing about it, other than... well... 3D? lol

Well, according to IGN we do know a few things...like its obviously gonna be backwards compatible with the DS games. There's also that feature that allows you to turn the 3D thing off whenever, cause there's a good chance that the screens pulling off this effect will start to bother your eyes at some point. And like I said before, I doubt this will have PS3 graphics...I mean...

GameBoy/Color --> NES graphics

GameBoy Advance --> SNES graphics

DS --> N64 graphics

 

...Would make sense that the 3DS will be doing GCN graphics...

Ugh...wish E3 was here already, lol.

if its got gcn graphics then your going to be paying quite a bit plus the extra money for the 3D screen, and if it had gcn graphics then youd be playing portable wii games XD after all wii is just an over clocked game cube with extra features like wifi, bluetooth etc XD

 

i cant wait to see pics, vids and it in action at E3

Well...not really...The Wii is more powerfull, I can notice the graphics are a lot better that the GCN wouldn't be able to pull off. And I'm pretty sure its not gonna cost anymore than that of a PSP, most likely less. Knowing Nintendo, their systems always turn out to be the cheapest when compared to the others.

I will be watching E3 coverage live on G4 next monday and the announcement of the 3DS is making me wait to get a dsi..... >_< I cant wait, it better make my new pokemon look real.....even though Black and White will have butchered pokemon (OH DEAR GOD!!! THE HUMANITY!!!!)

I don't think the 3D effect will be able to work on DS games....but then again, no one knows yet. XD

I don't have cable/satellite, but then again I always preferred to watch it online anyways. Hopefully I won't forget about it for some odd reason, especially with this one.

yeah true the graphics are better on wii, but thats mainly because the spec inside has been pretty much the same for a lot of years now and so companies are able to use it far better then the gamecube was. Red Steel and loz:tp were originally gamecube games afterall (apart red steel was forced to be moved to wii by Nintendo :P )

The gamecube was very capable of running high-end graphics. Just check out

. Anyone who has played the Gamecube might notice a difference in quality. The reason the textures and shadows look better in the video is because it is being emulated on computer with a better processor than the gamecube. If only they gave the GCN just a little more power...

 

So I don't think the 3DS is going to look super awesome no matter what they say. It'll be cool probably, but HD? Don't think so...\

 

EDIT: And what idiots are gamefreak for naming the newest Pokemon games Black and White!?!

lol, yeah...Black and White...the games still look interesting though. As for the GCN, yeah kinda sucks that no one used it to its full potential...well, at least we have the two Primes. They looked awesome on that system, lol.

If its another hand-held Metroid, then it will most likely be Metroid Dread...and chances are that game is going to be a 2D platformer. (since its supposed to be a sequel to Fusion anyway) I'm hoping it will stay like that personally.

I doubt Dread will ever see the light of day. It might have been a code name for Corruption or Other M anyways...

 

 

Metroid Fusion was awesome though. I loved that game so much.

No, it was in an interview when they were talking about Other M, they haven't forgotten about Dread...so there's a chance that it may come out.

theres a easter egg message in Prime 3 saying about Metroid Dread XD Super Metroid was the best out of the 2D ones, my favourtie games of all time is Prime, it is everything I love most, every thing that I personally design & create and the music was just brilliant : D

 

btw the demo scene for the gamecube is purely off the gamecube and not running off an emulator and using extra cpu power, its purely the gamecube, thats the whole point in demo scenes : D I might run that on my comp in Dolphin XD
