ShinyToyGuns 29 Report post Posted June 17, 2010 (edited) Hey all, I'm back, and boy, have I got a few stories to tell. Okay, so first of all, I would like to let you all know that I just got out of the hospital about a week and a half ago after a 2 week stay. Why was I in the hospital, you may ask? Well, I tried hanging myself about a month ago due to severe depression and an argument I got into with my father. But! I'm here now, I'm doing better, and that's all that matters. Secondly, some of you may also be wondering why I was depressed. My meds were not working for me, and I was sick of not doing anything with my life (I know now though, that suicide is NOT, and should NEVER be a solution to whatever shit life has to throw at you). Now onto something a bit less gloomy, and more game-related. Due to recent events, I have decided to take things slowly with my game, The Dream Island. Also, as some of you may know, I was helping moderate a 2D online RPG, TerraWorld Online. Well, I'm no longer an admin on there, and I sorta got one of my characters banned, so I am no longer a player of that game either, and I do not regret it one bit, as I have found a similar, but much better, game. The game I have now gotten myself wrapped up in is called Return to Gaurdia. Why did I leave everything on Terra behind for this game? Well, for one, it has more staff support, which means the game gets updated more often; it's less childish than Terra (graphics, chat, etc.); it has a bunch more features, more skills, and more to do; the community is friendlier; and more...check it out for yourself if you don't believe me :P That about sums up what I've been up to since I went on hiatus...Now onto what's new here? Welcome to RMXPU :D As for "The Dream Island", it's a project of mine that has been in the planning stages for a while now, but it's hopefully gonna be one of the most expansive RPG Maker XP games out there lol...you can read more about it in its various stages of planning in my blog, which can be found here. I had a similar idea once, but it was a bit hard to do, comparing its complexity to my skill with RMXP. I didn't exactly read the planning 'sites that you referenced/recommended yet, but I plan to.- I have them bookmarked. And while I like to plan, I never get around to it. I have some templates that I use, but they're awfully old. Anyway, I'd like to see what becomes of the project. It definitely seems original, and by no means is it cliche. ShinyToyGuns 29 Report post Posted July 3, 2010 I have not progressed much further on "The Dream Island", as I have spent the last week in another hospital, this time for something more serious than trying to hang myself...although, I was still trying to kill myself. I had been hearing voices for about a week or so after I got out of the first hospital, as a side-effect from one of my medications they put me on, and when I couldn't take it anymore, I decided I would try getting rid of them by loading up on anti-depressants...not exactly the best idea. So, long story short, I had like, a 3-4 day "hangover", and got out of the hospital yesterday. I'm doing much better now, and will hopefully stay out this time.
