zane203 8 Report post Posted June 19, 2010 Project Divinity Its made by CZZC Inc. under the Creative Studio Branch - .Lucky#7, under director Zane ZenOokami Blalock which classifies it under "Zen Works" Updated On: Sunday, July 4th, 2010 @ 04:05pm -previous information- Story: You play as the protagonist, a reincarnation of a great legend, known as "The Divine Phantom". Legend says that the new reincarnate will shape the new world in his own image. Every choice you make will determine the outcome for each of the lands you travel. As you play, you will progress through "Stages of Life": Childhood, Kiddie Days, Teen Years, and finally Young Adult Each stage of life will have an effect on the outcome of the world. You may become wanted in some areas and grow a bounty there, be a hero in one country, and a tyrant in the other. You may even become known as a God, or a Demon. Every choice has a Good and a Bad. -- You will eventually be swept in to the whole deal of politics of the land. Once you are revealed to be the reincarnate of the Phantom, some Kingdoms and Governments will consider you a threat, and may start to attack the kingdom of which you remain in. Either help your kingdom rise and eventually become the ruler of the kingdom, or let it crumble and remain a wonderer of the world. -- You will eventually find a partner, depending on your choices during your kiddie days, you will either obtain a Wolf Pup, a Dragon Egg, a Snake Egg, or a baby rabbit. This partner will grow with you and aid you during your life span. -- Titles: As you play, you'll begin to find legends to take on and challenges that may reward you a title. These titles allows you to walk the country famous or infamous. ... -- Leveling: Leveling is something general, yet complex. Leveling does not increase anything other than a basic amount of health, and agility. The agility marks by the experience of battle, you become accustomed to the movements of attacks. Other skills such as strength, Magic, defense, and ect. are upgraded separately using the souls of those you've slain, bought, or special items. -- there are some quest and some battles that will specifically increase some attributes. He was tired of the land that society had ravaged and created his own world tied to his most deep sought desires. He called this world, The Land of Dreamz. Here he ruled and created two polars, the Nightmare Realm, and the Realm of Angels. After 100 years of living in peace, he became bored, and announced he shall bring about a time where change will be dependent of one person... and vanished from life itself. At the time of his disappearance, a baby was born... And it was said to be born in a deep sleep... a sleep so peaceful, that he must've been with-in the Land of Dreamz itself. Marked by this one remarkable event, you are now targeted to be judged crucially by those around you... As untold events occur, how shall you live your life, will you seek revenge on those who shall come to scar your life? Shall you protect the weak? or will you reek havoc on the weak, the strong, and the bold who wish to cross your path... YOU DECIDE! Key People/Groups/Places/Things of Interest [border=#5a70b3]Your Sword[/border]: You will later realize that your sword plays a bigger role than expected! As you battle you may start to hear a voice, or are you just going crazy? [border=#5a70b3]Armies[/border]: Armies are just armies. BUT, you can always expect them to have quests for you! Depending on what army you help, will determine what the word it shapes into. respectfully, you could just fight all armies eventually and take over all the lands. [border=#5a70b3]Knights of the Round, the Spheres, the Ancients, the Shadows[/border]: Knights in general are very informative. There are countless branches and types of knights, some traveling in groups, some lone warriors trying to find a place, a battle, or death on the field. [border=#5a70b3]Books[/border]: Books are a great way to get the thought of treasure and loot on your mind. It'd suck if you found a secret cave but end up getting to a door with a secret opening and not know how to open it... [border=#fb8a00]Temples[/border]: Temples are always drawing people of a specific nature towards a goal. You may find masters teachers or perhaps friends to aid you here. [border=#5a70b3]Inn Keepers[/border]: If you're good to them, they may start letting you room for free... [border=#ee4a2d]Workers[/border]: You may need some more workers for your ship, or army. If you find someone with excellent potential, dont think they'll join you so easily. [big]Races[/big] The Darklan: The Darklan are a race of dark skinned people. They have a natural connection to the earth and animals. During 0721, the Darklan were enslaved along with the Denon on their sacred land Alfreion. Once brought to Galendar, it was about 200 years in 0945 when they became free after the "War of a United Front". After such the Darklan and Denon have been working there way into a new civilization. The Purist/The Vanguard:The Purist were a light skinned people who were the first to come into contact with the power of the Dream element. Once they began to brining in slaves, a moral war broke out with-in the race. They began to separate and split off into another group, known as "The Vanguards". Eventually the Vanguard began outnumbering the Purist and they took over and along side the other races, created an ideal place of unity. The Denon: The Denon are a very strong and resourceful bunch. They became very knowledgeable and make tools from nearly anything. Once enslaved, they became quick allies with the Darklan. Once freed, they became well known craftsman, but like the Darklan, they're still shunned by many. The Kats: The Kats are an evolved state of the animal kingdom. They have reflexes beyond any other race. They became well respected during the assassination of "Carlo VanDuan" and terrible dictator out at sea with an army of bandits. His downfall caused a great deal of increased bandit groups. The Elves: Elves are noble intelligent beings. They have a wide connection to ancient ways and and teachings. They tend to stay away from other races, as to keep out of other affairs. [image Pending]Dwarfs: The Dwarfs are a strong... short bunch. They are very well respected for forging modern contraptions. They are very aggressive towards the Denon as if a battle between Modern Ways of Forging, vs Ancient Ways of Forging. Stages of Life: Birth: You start the game off from birth, in which you hear your parents thinking of names for you. Pick a preset name, or make your own. Afterwards, you will decide your interest and your personality by the choices you make as a baby with only small weight of impact. (Birth stage can also give you some skills later down the road). Kid: Here, you learn about socializing, and government systems. Here you'll meet possible friends and allies, and even possible enemies. You continue forming your personality during this stage, and you'll gain your passive abilities and special abilities here. You may also get a head start on the farming part of the game, and even stock up on some early equipment. Teen: This is where you really begin :D. You get your first blade and are allowed to wonder out and discover new things! From here on you can begin to make a name for you, start some quests, and mysteries, and find friends and allies... and make a few enemies! -Soul OverLord System This system was designed in the KoS:TBoS project. It features: -Compelling AI -A new revamped Day/Night - Week system -Dynamic Maps -Dynamic Abilities -Smart NPCs Companions ============ NEW for project Divinity ============ -Dynamic Leveling system -Dynamic Equipment -Alchemy System -City Upgrades -Random Loot Generator for Dungeons -Extra set skills for survival (based on numerous variables) Minkoff Animated Battle System +Soul Rage and coco's weather system The famous animated battle system! I decided to go with this for it's compelling style... truly one of the greatest scripts ever made... I hope that my personal project can come to match it sometime in the futre. Leveling: Leveling is different for the main character. The only thing that increases as you level is your Ability to dodge and your Ability to strike critical attacks. Other stats are increased by special training, special events, special battles, or special items. `---->You wont have to worry about your counterparts on the other hand, they'll increase all of their stats as they level. You can always help them with special items, but when it comes to their special training, they'll reject some types. Example: Sirea is a samurai, so she wont take any ninja training or projectile training. Weapons: Weapons are set for every character, but what is changeable are the parts for the weapons. Archaic Spheres can be equipped to all weapons, and are most common for basic effects. There're possible actual possible weapon parts that can only be equipped for specific weapons as well, for example, the hand guard for a sword can not be equipped to a bow or a gun. Armor: Armor is set as well. They have the option to be equipped with modifications though. From Archaic Cubes, to things such as a dragon scale, wolf fur. You can even coat the armor is dragon saliva... Stress System: The stress system works with a constant effect. With the HUD you'll see your stress level at the top left of the screen. This is the normal bar. this means you're neither relaxed nor stressed. `---->There are two colors other than normal. Red and Green now there are 3 different tones for both the green and red. Dark Natural, and Bright. Dark means Lv.1 of Stress/Relax Natural means Lv.2 of Stress/Relax Bright means you're at Max Stress/Relax Now what stress does, actually effects a lot in a little way. Some conversations may change if you're stressed or relaxed, and you'll respond differently causing different outcomes. In battle on the other hand is something different: When relaxed, your mind is calm, allowing you to think more in battle. You'll dodge more and find yourself missing a lot less. Stress is a double edged sword. You're angry cranky, and frustrated. Your attack will be increased, but you'll miss more, and take more damage. Dev. Screenshots Battle System Screenshots Intro Cut-Scene Screenshots HUD Screens -- its only about 60% done, its simple and easy. [small][small]Note that these are the preset names of the characters. Everyone can be renamed when you meet them and such... Also note, if there are two images, then that indicates that there's a young version, and an older version.[/small][/small] Every character has the opportunity to join you as a friend, but also as an enemy! Befriending: Befriending a character can be simple or hard. Some may require unbelievable tasks, or hard battles with monsters. Some you may get by completing a random quest. Every character has a bond with you, and as such you should keep these bonds strong! or risk some unfriendly words and events in battle. Rivaling: Rivaling can be done with allies, or enemies. You can battle your rivals for a friendly spar. Enemy-ing: If you become an enemy with a character you will continue to see this character in battles unless you decide to kill them. BE WARNED, when you kill them, there is no chance to bring them back... easily ;) Spirits: Spirits are being that roam the world. They're many of each and you have the option of obtaining them. These spirits are used to obtain majority of your spells, and about half of your skills. For instance: If you find the fire spirit and obtain her, you'll gain fireball. When you upgrade her trust in you, you'll gain more fire skills like meteor and Blitz. Divine Phantom (Nez) ... Story: The Divine Wizard is the one who impacted the great change of the land, and after his disappearance, many seek to take his place as the strongest of all the land. Weapon: Claws Special Abilities: Theft [big]F.A.Q.s[/big] "I noticed that a LOT of the characters are named after the characters of "Kingdom of Souls" manga... why?" -Zane Blalock: "Well, see... The thing CZZC was most noted for during the first time we came into the public, was the trademark of naming the characters after Friends, Family, and Staff... sort of our way of putting ourselves, or rather our "persona" into the world... this is also to mock at the future release of the KoS Manga ;)..." "What happened to the last project, KoS:The Binding of Souls?" -Zane Blalock:"IT BOMBED It actually completed the initial reason for its creation, the build of a complex system, the "Soul OverLord" system in fact. The game itself could not be completed due to some problems our Spriter had, the lack of tilesets, and the horrible story x.X -- I just lost feel for it. But be assured, the "Organs" (the core of the game), has been implemented into Project:Divinity (this game)." "What Kind of Easter Eggs can we expect in this game?" -Zane Blalock:"Oh trust me, when I decided to start this project to be a complex rpg, I wanted to make sure that I left Easter Eggs... or what I all "Wolf Marks" through out the game. The title has an WM, the Phanton has a WM, and the intro has a BIG WM heh. So yea look forward to a great amount of WMs in LoDz." How do you plan to do Battles, and even more importantly, Boss battles?" -Zane Blalock: "This was VERY important, since im making you wait awhile before battling is even possible! In terms of battle, I've had to scrap all presets of the Engine rmxp had for the enemies. Each battle is crafted specifically to cater to the growth of the character. The enemies will take advantage of everything YOU can. If you're fighting an oiled base creature and a fire base creature... be prepared to have some fire defensive items! As for Bosses, their only "Really big bad Mobs". Once you discover the leader of a mob group, and win, you'll begin to see more of them. But keep in mind, all Mob Leaders have a LOT of health, and have the ability to call for aid... how many? ;) play and find out." "What was your thought for the Government Idea?" -Zane Blalock:"Well, I thought to myself what can be done with a very flexible mix of adventure and mystery. GOVERNMENT! With corruption, you can find try to find who's really corrupt, and you can also help make things right in local towns with problems. zane203 8 Report post Posted June 19, 2010 lol thanks, the inspiration came from fable though. The baby stage is exactly what a babyhood is, early development of you. the choices you make starts the complex binary tree for skills and personality and how you'll be able to act with people. and even though you're a baby, the decisions you make does impact the story. Nothing THAT major, but something that comes close to the heart lol. and now that I have broken my old code of not using premade scripts, i can focus more on other aspects... =/ after this project im gonna spend my time scripting x.X (random statement i know). again thanks for the encouragement =]
zane203 8 Report post Posted June 20, 2010 Topic updated =] Images added More info, some background info... and since its RmxpU -- i'll let you guys know ^^ for a BETA for the game, I'll be releasing a "Pre-Play" style part of the game. You play as the Divine Wizard Nez and will get to know a little bit about the mystery about his choice to vanish.

zane203 8 Report post Posted June 23, 2010 Updated with more info on the features and added screenshots of the HUD in dev. --I've still gotta add the day indicator --Still gotta add the lamp icon for when a dark area is lit --Need to add Town indicator and ect. as an extra, i plan to release a sneak peek of the intro as the actual game file to certain people. I need input on how the rough sketch looks.
zane203 8 Report post Posted July 4, 2010 *UPDATE* -Added Race Sections also I would like to fill you guys in on some not "so so" secret Dev plans. since the game trys to focus on a balance, Potions are not always your best bet. Health is recovered through sleeping and eating meals or snacks. Potions, are an experimental breakthrough in alchemy that only trained alchemist can create. The less experienced alchemist you go to, the more side-effects a potion may have. Becarfule when using them. for a spoiler, a standard hp potion will regain 30hp but give you a state of Defense down. also there is an alchemy system being developed, but its not going to be complex. -- yet The IDEA right now is to later release called, "Look mom, I'm a scientist now!" which allows you to train in the art of alchemy and learn how to make things with specific items on the go. other DLC includes the same with cooking. --- Also there's a dilemma... the world that LoD takes place is... HUGE... so I'm personally trying to decide how many countries and provinces to add for the official release, and what to add in later DLC... I hope to have your comments and thoughts on this =]. zane203 8 Report post Posted July 5, 2010 Thanks! That makes me want to throw off more shackles! =] another little hint. Since its known that you have the option to build your own empire during the Young Adult (last life stage), well you can recruit certain people. For instance, you can recruit a Denon to travel with you. This allows you to access the forging in ANY INN. -- Basically some characters come with perks for traveling with you. But if They're not in your party, you can still access their services at your empire. ---think im ready to start recruiting too off to the recruiting section i go xD

zane203 8 Report post Posted July 9, 2010 Tested and they work for me O_o -also the HUD now has a working Stamina indicator. It works like the energy for the day. if it reaches 0, you'll have only 1 hour to rest or restore it before you pass out. passing out will send you into a Inn or rest spot. after you've been robbed lol... Will be recruiting for a team soon =](was supposed to be 2days ago, but I wanted to get more done on my own.)

rgangsta 43 Report post Posted February 8, 2011 O.o I like that stress system. My only suggestion is to add more things to the HUD like HP and MP. Besides that, the game's looking good.
zane203 8 Report post Posted February 8, 2011 Well I thought about adding an HP and MP bar -- but because its not bliz, I decided to keep it simple. four corners. Top Left: Stress Top Right: Time (and maybe the day -- haven't decided just yet on adding day tracking to the system) bottom left: Map Location as well as a notifier for if there's an important task at your tower that needs to be addressed. bottom right: A set of icons for various things such as - Lamp Activated, Skill Activation(Wolf Scent) I want to keep the HUD unencumbered so it doesn't cause a distraction from the maps. =] Hopefully i can get things to the next level before April. As of now im working on the intro portion again, and setting up basic templates for AI interactions x.X -- DAMN my ambitions -_- ...
