Arkbennett 16 Report post Posted June 19, 2010 Online At Once Record: 128 I have been looking at this for three years, and I still don't know how this was done. If I remember, 2007 was one of our busier years but... 128 people? =0 Oh, yeah, and what does it mean when it says google, ask jeeves, etc. is viewing our forum. Is that what search engine guests are using to browse the forum?

Chief 30 Report post Posted June 19, 2010 No, those are crawlers, or bots. They pretty much scan the website and update links, info, and all of that onto their search engines.

Marked 197 Report post Posted June 19, 2010 Chief is correct, they're called search bots or spiders. Because they crawl websites. On the 2nd of July when we made that record, there were just 8 posts that day. It's pretty difficult to explain. I think perhaps it was more than just coincidence. I think there may have been a bulk email or something around that time, that may have done it.
Arkbennett 16 Report post Posted June 19, 2010 Hm. I see. I just find it hard to believe that even 2/3 of those were bots.
