Players will be able to customize there pirate ships, with parts to increase performance

I need help setting prices for these parts

Im going to use the code names of the parts rather than the real names as to prevent spoilage

Here is the List

Navigation Systems level 1-10

CPU level 1-10 most important

Power Cores level 1-7

Submarine System(Auto Pilot, long distance engine)1-5

Aquamarine Systems(Manual Pilot, Short distance engine)1-5

Special Systems 1-3(Each should be fairly expensive)

Siverix has a good point, how easy it is for players to make money is worth taking into consideration.

Some other things to consider:

What are all the parts made out of?

How expensive/rare are those materials?

How early in the game do you want the player do have a full ship?

How far in the game do you want the player to be able to have an AWESOME ship?

How much do the different upgrades help the player?

How expensive should they be considering how much they help the player.

Customizable pirate ships sounds awesome dude. xD

The weakest monster will drop around 15 silver(game currency)

The most expensive item right now is the Nil Ring which costs 36000 and can reverse time

Ah, I see

Well, these parts cannot be received via monster drops, you can only buy them from the Shop store

Also, you can't synthesizes these parts. Mainly because of the scripting involved

However, the lvl 1 items should be purchased early in game, since they help the player out

like the running shoes on Pokemon

The lvl 10 items are mandatory at the end of the game

These ship parts in particular help players navigate and travel the oceans faster and easier

for example

Navigation systems store locations and allow players to automatically travel from one place to another

Submarine Systems- decrease the time of auto pilot travel

If the player wants to steer the ship manually, Navigation systems will provide a minimap

and Aquamarine systems increase speed of manual pilot

some times these systems have CPU requirements, thus to upgrade the other systems an upgraded cpu is necessary

finally all of these parts are powered by the Power cores, as players upgrade their ships they will need larger power cores to support the systems

In this case, I think helping you answer your question will end up being a lot easier than us basing answers off of a LOT of variables here. See if this helps:

First, pick a spot in the game where the player should realistically have a lower-middle quality ship (pretty basic with a few nice upgrades). Now, make a few estimations on how much money the player would've accumulated by that time. What kind of equipment would you have access to, via drops and weaker equips you can sell?

With that rough number in your head, now take a "dungeon" in the game at around that point. How much money could the player make, from monster drops and equipment/item drops from 30 minutes of farming? Two hours?

Hopefully these examples spark more ideas in your head to help with figuring this complex matter out. When you get that first part down (about the accumulated money at the first there) you can base the prices off of X amount of money plus what you can make in Y amount of time on top of that. This way, you can gauge how much effort you want the player to go through to get their ship going.

Another random idea here. Maybe later on in the game, if you upgrade a certain part of the ship enough you can access areas you couldn't make it to before with a regular ship. Maybe there's a body of water you have to cross to get to another area, but the fog is really dense. If you upgraded your Navigation systems enough, you could go through. Enabling access to new areas and whatnot would be a great way to reward the player for working to get the money to upgrade.

Hope this helps :)

farming is boring dont do that better add some sort of a minigame like smuggling or sinking other ships and looting the booty but i guess for the second part you would have to add weapon upgrades or something
