FranklinX 37 Report post Posted June 29, 2010 Windows is having problems starting on my computer. System repair did not seem to be fixing anything as it ran for 30 minutes. I tried using safe mode, but it never loaded. Sometimes I would receive a message stating there is no bootable option. I tried system repair again and just let it run for hours while I slept. Finally after 5 or 6 hours it is working again. Thankfully it seems to be working. It took about 5 or 6 hours for it to start. Thankfully it seems to be working. However, sometimes some programs are freezing such as FireFox and McAfee. Please help me. :(
madanchi 18 Report post Posted June 29, 2010 ouch, nastyyyy hmm "a message stating there is no bootable option. " that's at the start right, before the OS boots, if so, just make sure your hdd hasnt got a loose cable, and it may be a sign of a failing hdd, but to be sure on that matter just run THIS HERE and you have to consider it could be a nasty virus messing thinsg up, so at your state, my primary thing would be to do a full scan with an anti virus program, Pol made a good thread on ones you could use, but while I'm here, I always prefer Super Anti Spyware for quick emergency scans, and then Eset Nod for the nitty gritty finishes (Eset Nod IS HERE fill in details, as its a trial, but it still works as a full scanner)

FranklinX 37 Report post Posted June 29, 2010 Firefox started to freeze again an hour ago. I removed the Swagbucks toolbar and things are better for now. I'll just have to wait and see in a few hours.
