CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 I didn't know where to place this, as it was a request, but I wasn't sure if it would go in the "Resource Request" place, so I just thought I'd place it here, to be safe. I'm terrible at spriting, okay, well, I don't know that, I think it though. I can't honestly judge myself, I always think its bad. lol So, I was wondering, does anyone know where I can find spriting tutorials? Or maybe a spriting teacher? I really would love to sprite, seeing as I have a few custom graphics needed for my game, which is important. Now, Musical made this awesome character template I could use for my second side project (Or maybe both? I love them, seeing as it reminds of the Nes and Snes) and I would need to know how to sprite to make my own characters. I know spriting takes time and its not something you can just pick up and be a master at, but I would really like to learn. Well, that's all! Thanks so much for reading!:P P.S If a reference of my ability is needed, I will post one. lol
Broken Messiah 20 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 Take it from me, do not start on creating ragnarok sprites if your a newbie, I sucked epically.
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 I do like that style, but as a Classical gamer, I wouldn't dare touch that kind of style, at least not yet. I would like to start on easy and work up to Difficult. I have a lot of time free, especially at night. One day, I hope to create a RTP out of my style and try to offer up characters as well, to make a difference between future created games. It would help people, which I would be glad to do. :) Plus, it would be pretty neat to build a game out of my own made tilesets and stuff lol
Kiriashi 117 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 Marked found a complete guide on spriting with RMXP a while ago. Check that out. Here's a topic with a BILLION guides linked. EDIT: Also, yes, this goes in resource requests.
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 Ah, okay. I wasn't sure, seeing as it was technically tutorial oriented. lol Some of the sites at HB is in Japanese, but the hair one is especially useful, although I think that one applies to taller styled spriting.. Thanks for moving, Kiriashi! :D
Kiriashi 117 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 Yeah no problem. As for the tutorials, you can use google translator. It really doesn't matter how badly they translate it, because the pictures are what you really need to be focusing on. ^_^
CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted July 3, 2010 I tried looking at the pictures...but I'm more of a "read and practice." My eyes can only copy and see and learn, from pencil. I can't do it at all with spriting. Maybe if someone gives me a test or some sort, of making something small (not characters of course lol) and I work my way up, I can improve a bit.......?
