FranklinX 37 Report post Posted July 5, 2010 Segregation is common in all societies. It is based on race, physical appearance, and social class. I visited a church today. I noticed something very ODD for an American church. It is a black church with TWO white pastors and one black pastor. Very few churches are integrated. The church had a very positive atmosphere. Most churches in the US are referred to as a racial church such as a "black church". To clear this up a bit this has nothing to do with the law. Most people just freely choose to let it be this way instead of worshiping with other races. Schools are still segregated today. This time it is by social status. Children go to schools in their district. Low class, Middle class, and Upper class normally live in different districts. Schools are also funded by property taxes of their districts. The middle and upper class students will have better schools than the lower class students. Do you see any changes in these problems in the future? What are your solutions? Are there any other social and economic segregation you know of?
Kiriashi 117 Report post Posted July 5, 2010 I personally think we should drop the race topic for a while after that last one.
Marked 197 Report post Posted July 5, 2010 What last one? PM me? Yeah, segregation. Also exists in other countries... With class, I don't see how it is preventable. Is it really a problem? I suppose this is another US topic where I can't say too much :( All of our schools are funded based on the number of students at the school.

Chief 30 Report post Posted July 5, 2010 his time it is by social status. Children go to schools in their district. Low class, Middle class, and Upper class normally live in different districts. Thats because the different classes are usually different districts, and thus are different schools, lol. I noticed something very ODD for an American church. It is a black church with TWO white pastors and one black pastor. If race doesn't matter, which it doesn't, then why are you yourself calling it a "black" church? FranklinX 37 Report post Posted July 9, 2010 Thats because the different classes are usually different districts, and thus are different schools, lol. If race doesn't matter, which it doesn't, then why are you yourself calling it a "black" church? It's called a black church because almost every member is black. The problem with schools is that the richer schools have more funds. This is not equal competition in the educational field. Every school should give all students an equal opportunity. In the south colleges are rated very low and they improve themselves every year to help students compete with students at other regions. Maybe I should make a topic of our whack out educational system.
