Features:

 

This is my first RPG Maker XP game.

This game uses TBS by Gubid which is similiar to Fire Emblem or Super Robot Wars without battle animation.

The features include the following:

-Almost all UC Gundam characters from both Zeon and EFF will be playable.

-You will be given a choice of two new MS every ten levels.

-Various weapons and items.

-Items and special events are hidden throughout battle maps.

-Different Paths will lead to different recruitable characters and endings.

 

Story:

 

The general background story is similiar to the original Gundam story. All the terminologies such as mobile suits, Newtype, and etc are from the original story as well. The Zeon and the Earth Federation declare a war against each other due to the difference in their ideologies. Eventually after six years of war, they agree on an armistice. However, an incident at Zeon's Newtype Lab leads to another war which is plotted by Neo Apostolos organization. Having their members as high officials in both Zeon and EFF, Neo Apostolos manipulates the war between Zeon and EFF. They also steal Zeon's secretly researched Newtype project samples. Their true intention is to make both Zeon and EFF weak by making them fight each other and eventually take over the world. Neo Apostolos believes that only the perfect Newtype can lead the world in harmony. As their name suggests, they want be the "new followers" of the perfect Newtype (God). Toward the end of game, they succeed in creating the perfect Newtype. However, the pefect Newtype and other advanced Newtypes betray the Neo Apostolos and destroys the organization. Now they are also threat to whole world as both Zeon and EFF do not have enough strength to fight them.

 

The story has the following flowchart.

 

Depending on the choices you make, you can fight as Zeon, EFF, or neutral force. It will have nine different endings.

 

Characters:

 

Again, almost all the characters are from the UC Gundam time. There are some original characters for the Neo Apostolos.

 

Char Aznable: He is the main character. He is the son of Zeon Daikun, the founder of the Principality of Zeon. After his father was assassinated by Zabi family, he and his siter are taken to the earth by Daikun servant. He later joins the Zeon military to revenge his father.

He is one of the best Newtype pilots.

 

Lalah Sune: Lalah is a young woman who is the "star student" of Professor Flanagan due to her strong Newtype abilities, and as such is also one of the key test subjects in the development of Newtype-related weaponry. Being one of the earliest and most successful known artificial Newtypes, her powers are accompanied by a profound spiritual awareness. (from wiki)

 

Kycilia Zabi: Kycilia was quick to adapt to the changing technology of the One Year War, and was equally proficient in gathering intelligence for use against the Earth Federation. She was in charge of the Principality of Zeon's mobile suit forces, and was responsible for their use against the Federation. In addition, she was responsible for the creation of numerous elite mobile suit units (from wiki)

 

Ramba Ral: Longtime friend of Zeon Zum Deikun, Ramba Ral took in Deikun's two children, Casval and Artesia, after Deikun was assassnated. In order to protect them, the Ral family later sent them to live on Earth under the names Edward and Sayla Mass. Ramba Ral joined the Zeon military in Universal Century 0064. He quickly made himself known as a great tactician, and a master of guerrilla warfare. (from wiki)

 

Shin: Shin Matsunaga was a Zeon ace pilot during the One Year War. When his talent was recognized, his mobile suit's head and left shoulder were painted white, thus giving him the nickname The White Wolf (from wiki)

 

Other playable Zeon characters in demo game include Johnny Raiden, Black Tri-Stars, 603 Team, Cyclone Team.

 

EFF characters include Slegger, Federico, and Christina.

 

Game Play:

 

-It uses tactical battle system. You move your units and attack ones in range like in FFT, Fire Emblem, or Super Robot Wars.

-If you unit dies during the battle, it will be permanetly removed from your party like in Fire Emblem.

-All the normal attacks will be counter attacked if your unit is within the enemy's physical attack range.

-There are winning/losing conditions for each battle maps.

-There are nine battle maps in this demo. It takes about 3-4 hours to complete this demo.

-The game may randomly freeze or crash due to GTBS problems. I recommend that you save after every battle.

Wow :shok: I tried something like this is a old version of my code geass game for vx, but couldnt get the tactical battle system to work right.

 

One thing i would though is edit the script so that when a unit moves you hear sound like in advance wars.

I played this...It was ok but really NOT the best. In some places the mapping was terrible (not trying to be mean) but thats one of the most important things of a game next to the storyline. Overall it was really hard. Took me a coupe trys to get past the first battle.
