FranklinX 37 Report post Posted July 10, 2010 The Death Penalty is always a hot topic in American politics. Some states allow it and others don't. Some people say it is cruel. Others say "an eye for an eye". Inmates who get the death penalty are murders. Execution is done by injection or electrocution. Execution is done in a manner that the inmate cannot feel pain. This is an insult to injury. Why should a murder who made people suffer get a painless death? They deserve just as much pain they gave their victims. This is an easy why of getting out of life pain free. They no longer have to suffer the hardships of prison life. Death is when all suffering ends. CrimsonInferno 35 Report post Posted July 10, 2010 Yes it should, no it shouldn't cause any kind of pain. Think about the lives most of the murders take. If they ever get released, they kill more. Its better to humanly end their life so they don't take any others. I know...who are we to pick and choose who dies. Also, there are much more concerning crimes/topics thatn murder. sexual crimes are the worst, in my opinion, and even then, I dont believe the death penalty to be appropriate. to lock them in confinement with low lighting, and nobody to talk to, now thats what they deserve. to be forced into insanity by secluding them from human contact, thats what they deserve. I dont care if its humane, but its much more effective than murdering them. They dont deserve mercy, but killing them is more merciful than locking them away... Marked 197 Report post Posted July 10, 2010 sexual crimes are the worst, in my opinion I don't really know what your reasoning is there, Chief. I think most people would prefer rape than death. The only problem I have with the death penalty is that its extremely rare to prove with no doubt that a person did the murder. I think that's why we don't have it in NZ. I think some americans would laugh at our penalties. In the USA the time you get is so much higher. Murders can get 8 years, or 12 years. Not sure what the maximum is though. deosnt mean we stoop to their level, Its not stooping to their level. Its justice. A person who kills another person (not taking into account the reasons) deserves to die. Thats fair. You cannot place a time or value on a human life. Who says its a god's choice to decide death anyway? Logically thinking, an eye for an eye is what should be given in terms of a life taken in vein. If they killed painfully, they should die painfully. To take life should give you the right to lose one. Everything is subjective, and will never come to a 100% agreement. It depends on how vengeful, sinful, thoughtful, caring, disregarding you are. plain and simple... but by logic If every life is the same, if you take one away, you should give yours. Balance. Totally agree There are people in prison who have killed many people, and they get TV, food, roommate, workout equipment, clothes, a bath, etc. Still prison is shitty.
