FranklinX 37 Report post Posted July 18, 2010 I just went on Best Buy to see their prices for computer aid and repair. Back up files will cost $169 dollars. WTF. Anyone can do that themselves unless their computer is broken. Buying an External harddrive is much cheaper than this. Still $169 dollars is a lot to do something so basic. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Geek+Squad%26%23174%3B+-+On-Site+One-Time+Data+Backup+or+Transfer/9617518.p?id=1218132018024&skuId=9617518 PC Hook Up is an insult to my intelligence. Every computer comes with basic instructions. It is not hard at all. It costs $149 bucks! http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Geek+Squad%26%23174%3B+-+PC+Hookup/9701298.p?id=1218154721199&skuId=9701298 Learn how to work an Apple computer for $149 bucks. I am sure we all have that one computer friend who can teach us this in an hour. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Geek+Squad%26%23174%3B+-+1-Hour+Mac+Basic+Training/8908275.p?id=1214005176432&skuId=8908275

Polraudio 122 Report post Posted July 18, 2010 Call TOSHIBA as for a very very cheep recovery disk and do it your self. Thats the exact same thing they are going to do so dont waste your money on useless repair companies for something you can do your self for free. All your going to need to do is buy an enclosure for your laptop HDD for $20 and pay for shipping for the recovery CD. Its very simple, get the disk and insert it and start up your computer and insert your information and click next on 3 windows and your done. If you get the stuff i can help you with everything. FranklinX 37 Report post Posted July 18, 2010 TOSHIBA said they will provide me with a recovery CD after the repairs. They said they normally do not give CDs because people can do it themselves.

Thats retarded. You could lie to them. Whats your operating system? You might be able to find someone with a CD and use the Product Key on the bottom of your laptop.
