Boat Map Request

Question

I need help with RMXP. I need to make a boat...but I'm no good at mapping boats...I need the inside and outside of the boat...I might try myself (if I get desperate enough) but I probably won't right now...I'll just skip from the intro to the first level for now...but, anyway...I need someone who can make me some maps of a cargo boat. I'm no good at boats...

1: I might be able to help you out

2: Can you please list all the rooms that you wish to have

3: Why not wait until the March Mapping Contest is over so that you can decide who can make the best maps?

4: Yeah; it would be hard

Well, in truth, the best mapper in the contest may not be the best mapper for this...cause the map contest is for the ruins tileset, not any of the boat tilesets.

As for rooms...I'm not entirely sure...but there does need to be a room for the characters to sleep in...but it is a cargo ship, though, it's not a passenger ship, which would mean the characters would have to find make-shift things to sleep on, or sleep on the ground, so...I'm not sure how to go about that...but I need both the inside and the top, as I have scenes that occur in both areas...also, for anyone who has played the original RM2k3 or RMXP versions...the boat scene will be expanded in this version, so you will get 2 extra scenes PLUS some other cool stuff as well.

I have made a RTP ship tutorial, and I'm considering making one for the pirate ship tileset I have. Here's some pictures of the ships I made, they're pretty basic, but you get the idea.

Making a ship from RTP isn't hard really, I just always hated the backend. :x If you need some help the best way to do it, is just try to find screenshots of other people ships, and try to learn from that. Or find a tutorial. I wouldn't recommend having someone else make a map for you, seeing as how their mapping style would most likely be completely different from your own.

yeah, I managed to make a bot, though it is only one section, since I'm horrible at making an entire boat...your boats look pretty good, though...and, unfortunately, I don't have much of a "map style" all my maps look pretty different, so I don't think anyone would notice the fact that they're different...

You may not have a mapping style, but he might. Judging by that, I would say the mapping could be very different.

I just would rather help someone learn to do something themselves, than to do it for them. That's just how I am, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that.

Maybe you could post screenshots of your map, I can try to see if I can help out that way. Maybe I could point out some errors, or maybe give some pointers. :)

I didn't...that's the entire boat...I didn't do anymore of it, because I could never get the back section to work right...

That's the main thing I hated about the RTP ship tileset, the backend never looks right. It doesn't quite fit with the rest of the ship. That's the reason the back of mine is the way it is. I think it's a nice alternative.

What you have done looks pretty good though, nice job. :P
