FranklinX 37 Report post Posted August 14, 2010 (edited) I am surprised I never heard of anyone mentioning the similarities of racism in DBZ. Freeza owned the Sayians as salves. They worked for him and did everything he told them to do. They did a lot of the hard work of conquering planets for Freeza. This is like the white Americans owning the black slaves and making them do hardwork on plantations. Freeza called them monkeys. Racist people call African Americans monkeys. Freeza was also scared of the legendary Super Sayian to overthrow him. This was like White American scared of African Americans gaining rights and some did fear of MLK becoming a president in the future. I am making a connection to the salary and civil rights moment to DBZ. Discuss Edited August 15, 2010 by RATED-RKOFRANKLIN

Marked 197 Report post Posted August 14, 2010 Its not racism because they are sayians and freeza is....well something else. He called them monkeys coz they kinda DO turn into giant monkeys. Its slavery but where doesn't that happen? And I think the sayians liked destroying planets, its more of a job. Not everything is racist. Honestly I find this silly. Sayians did not like being under Freeza's rule. They were forced to do his dirty work.

rgangsta 43 Report post Posted August 15, 2010 lol I like the end. "We're in for one wild night" *Back on Topic* I am making a connection to the salary and civil rights moment to DBZ. He called them monkeys and they were offended. Sayians are slaves under Freeza's rule and are treated as such. Sayians did not like being under Freeza's rule. They were forced to do his dirty work. I've never really noticed the slave thing in DBZ. It used to be cool to me but once GT came around it got dull and I didn't pay attention to the storyline. Guest Allen Hunter Report post Posted August 15, 2010 Yeah, but I doubt any of the Saiyans ate fried chicken, played basketball, started rap groups, or liked looking at women in the ass. Stop making such a big deal about it.
Broken Messiah 20 Report post Posted August 15, 2010 GT sucked, and the saiyons were mercilous killers. In fact Goku came to Earth to destroy it, but lost his memories upon inpact as a child.

Enigma 10 Report post Posted August 15, 2010 There is one piece of racism in DBZ though, even though I love the show Exhibit A Mr.PoPo, resembles black face- which when before African American were able to perform, actors would paint their faces black and lips red to portray African Americans in a Negative light
rgangsta 43 Report post Posted August 15, 2010 I can't even reply to this...I wouldn't say it's racism, though. It was probably just a coincidence. But this IS racist. Twhen before African American were able to perform, actors would paint their faces black and lips red to portray African Americans in a Negative light[/i] @ Allen Hunter I knew it! madanchi 18 Report post Posted August 15, 2010 Freeza is the ultimate recist, he hates anything and everything I do see the resemblance to how it happened to humans, I think that's why dbz did that

isaacsol 10 Report post Posted August 15, 2010 I seriously don't see the point you are trying to make here. You are comparing a cartoon made in Japan to racism? There is nothing subliminal or any negative connotations whatsoever.
FranklinX 37 Report post Posted August 15, 2010 I seriously don't see the point you are trying to make here. You are comparing a cartoon made in Japan to racism? There is nothing subliminal or any negative connotations whatsoever. The connections are extremely obvious. They're not hard to notice at all. Let me it easier for you to understand. 1. Sayians/Blacks were slaves 2. They did all of the hardwork, Vegata later noted when he fought the Ginyu Force and other soldiers that they were lazy and did nothing for years. That's why Vegata grew to new levels above them. Ginyu Force confirmed this when they admitted many times to just playing games at head quarters. They often mention playing bowling. 3. Freeza referred to the Sayians as monkeys like some racist people call blacks monkeys. True Sayians did transform into monkeys, but they were offended by Freeza's remarks. 4. Freeza was scared a Sayian would gain power over him. White racist Americans years ago feared that blacks would gain rights(power). 5. Freeza often bragged about killing Sayians just like KKK members bragged about killing blacks. There's a lot more but I'm not listing them all.
Chief 30 Report post Posted August 15, 2010 DBZ has no connections to racism. Good lord, RKO, not everything is racist, you should really lay off it a while.

isaacsol 10 Report post Posted August 15, 2010 You are trying to link two totally different ideas and conflate them into your view that it is racist. There is no proof whatsoever that this is portraying any human race or racial event whatsoever. 1 Chief reacted to this
