Question on scripting

Question

Alright, so when it comes to adding patches/ and extras to a released game, we know that adding scripts may cause the saved data not to work (causing athe player to start a new game).

Would this be the case with quest book scripts? say if i add on to the missions/quests and what not. Would that render the saved data useless?

I would like to know before i get to setting it up, because i could make an event based questbook all the same =3

thanks

As long as you do not create a new variable in Game_Party or other such script (The game scripts or others that are included in the save file.) If you add onto a module, that is different. To know for certain, i'd have to know EXACTLY what you'd want to add.

It depends on the quest book in question.

Luckily it's easy to test. Just add the script and see if you can still load your old saves.

My questbook should at least work since I designed for retrospective addition. (So the guy I made it for wouldn't loose 50-60 hours of saves)

*hugs*
