Old School Games

Recommended Posts

So I was searching E-bay and Google for old PSX games to find FF7. However most games I found there where bid only or being sold for like over $58.00 (USD). So then I went to google and just typed in "buy old PSX games" and manage to find this site:

http://www.jjgames.com

They sell old school games, consoles, accessories, etc (mostly all used). Now what I like about them is they tell you EXACTLY what you get: game (no doubt), case, and instruction book. If its missing an item or it is damaged (i.e cracked case) the price is lower. They also have a 30 day money back guarantee and free shipping on orders over $25.

I just spent about $150 on buying: FF7, FFC, FFA, FF8, FF9, and Dark Stone. Any way thought I would share.

I love classic games. The games today are good but I still think that the originals are the best.

Smoe of you may know that I'm a hardcore Metal Gear Solid fan. I used to have it for GBC and once I got my PSP hacked, I got it for my PSP. I'm stuck at a certain part, though, so I kinda stopped playing it and played Metal Gear Solid 2 instead (I beat that one over 70 times).

Hacked PSPs and emulators are not illegal and the ROM I downloaded was not illegal either. I got it from Brothersoft.com.

$150 is a steal for all the titles you purchased, given FF7 alone would take up a sizable portion. Didn't check out your link, but how much dough did you spend for FF7?

As for me I paid $10 for FF7, however that is from the PlayStation Store using my PS3. I prefer having the materialized copy as it has re-sell value.

Is FF really a fun game? Because I've seen videos and stuff and it really confused me. There were different characters everytime and I didn't like the battle sequences. Even the movie didn't make sense to me.

Fun is pretty much relative. Play it and see if you're fond of the games. Since you're not a fan of the battle sequences, FF probably won't be fun for you.

You're right. If the battle sequence bores me, then I guess the whole game entirely will too.

It cost me about $57, but they have it for as low as $52 (missing the instructions or the CD has stickers on it).

They also have Valkeri (I think I spelled it wrong) Profile for like $88. I plan on getting it as when I owned it I never got to finish it.

And this all started when I was trying to find FF7 as I have not played any FF game lower than 8 (not including the ones released on more modern consoles like FF3 DS, FF for the PSP; which I own).

Thats cool you can get it on the Playstation Story (waiting on my PS3 to come; just bought it like a day ago online). Do they have any other FF titles (PSX or PS2)?

Final Fantasy VII through IX is available for the same price last I checked. Tactics is also downloadable. Unfortunately not a single PS2 game is available in the store let alone the FF games, though there should be some hope for this in the future (esp for the rare games). For now I just pop in my PS2 disks.

The cool thing, if you haven't previously know, is you can copy your downloaded games onto your Memory Stick Pro Duo and play it on your PSP. Some games can be a bitch to control given the streamlined control setup of the PSP unit vs. the DualShock.

My PSP's hacked to with Metal Gear Peace Walker which I enjoy from time to time. I only have a PS2 and want a PS3 but fear if I get one it will be replaced e.g by a PS4 ( move seems to keep that from happening too soon though ) just like how I got a PS2 recently then PS3 came out, I was kinda pissed of since I wated ages ( saved up e.t.c, my mom can never buy me anything related to video games, she knows I'm an addict lol )

Anyway, I should try buying one online too sometime, I actually scored an Xbox 360 at a discount, it's also hacked but I'm not a fan of shooters too much and never play it that much. Usually play e.g Earthbound on my P.C instead of go shoot up something on Halo or something.

I also like Old School games but not out of choice, I'm stuck with em' now that I have a PS2 which is getting outdated with sick games like Mass Effect, Metal Gear 4 e.t.c plus old school games as you can see are cheap ( before they become some kind of antique ) so its out of jealousy in a way that I prefer old school games, wish I had a PS3 though with Metal Gear 4 and a bunch of RPG's to boot...sigh.
