Mario Resources - Sprites, Tilesets, Scripting

I'm planning to develop a Paper Mario compilation game on RPG Maker XP, and I need some resources for it. For the charsets and tilesets, they can either be custom or M&L style (or both), except where noted. M&L charsets and tilesets can be from either game, or can be custom. I'm not too fussed, I just need these resources.

SCRIPT/CODING (Not a must, but would be useful)

The only scripting I can think of at the moment is both a M&L style battle system, and a badge system that relates to Paper Mario (i.e. when Mario activates a Power Jump Badge, he can use Power Jump in battle). There will need to be a 'Badges' selection on the Start Menu, as well.

 

Anyone who contributes will have their name on the credits of the game after it is finished. Please contribute something, I need these resources to get my game started. I'm currently using RMXP graphics for the time being, but I will be eternally grateful for any contributed resources. Thanks.

I don't think you realize how massive and impossible your request list is. :sweatdrop:

 

It's going to be quite hard to get those. Especially a battle system. No one is going to make you one just to get credit in a game. You're going to have to pay people to do that.

 

I don't mean to get your hopes down, but hopefully you'll try to make something original.

 

This is why fan games are hard..

No worries. I honestly don't expect to get all of these resources. I was just hoping for some contribution. I realise I will have to find most of this by myself. The problem is, I'm having a hard time finding some decent resources. Basically, if I can't get most of the resources I have specified (which I never expected to), I am at least hoping someone will post a Toad Town/Mario's House tileset, because I can just go from there. I've already found some decent tilesets myself, but I was hoping for a M&L-style Toad Town and Mario's House, since they are the most visited areas in the game. What I'm trying to say is, I need these tilesets to get me started. But thank you for your concxern and support.

Franklin? Sorry, I'm new xD Were they in the resources section? Because I checked there and couldn't find them. If you could just point me in the right direction, that'd be great =]

Kiriashi took the words right out of my mouth, I would make a paragraph of how ridiculous your request is and why someone would even gather/make these for you when you can simply work hard and not rely on everybody else to make things for you. Good day now. Oh yeah, Welcome to the Forumz.

For the record, I don't expect to have "everything done for me". Granted I did put a lot into my request, but as I stated, I don't expect all of my requests to be met. I need a few resources to get me started. I can simply improvise for the rest. I am a member of another rmxp site, and they were much more supportive. (though this is not to say I haven't met a few supportive people on here).

 

Nevertheless, I'd like to request, if you have nothing supportive or useful to post, don't post at all. Thank you.

Edit:

they're good, they have helped me a lot. The only problem is, there aren't a lot of M&L tiles here, and I'm hoping to base my game in that sort of graphical style. I'm going to work on the game with the resources Punk_Blood has provided me with (thanks again), but if anyone could post a few M&L tilesets, (even if it's just Toad Town), that'd be great.

I gave up getting people to call me Broken Messiah, instead of Broken . . .

 

Not a lot of people are prepared to call people by their full usernames. This is why I opt for a simple username. But then, people still call me joe619 instead of just Joe. xD

Here is why people are not supporting you that much here: You are seeming like a leech because you didn't even introduce yourself to these forums. If you were to be active, and post more on topics instead of wanting resource topics. Please, if you were not a leech you would be getting more stuff.

If you've played any of the Mario & Luigi games (Superstar Saga, Partners in Time, Bowser's Inside Story), it's the sprite format of those games. I already have the Mario sprites. I still need some of Luigi, Princess Peach etc. If you haven't played any of the aforementioned games, it's Luigi and Princess Peach sprites in the style of the rmxp sprite format (i.e. sprites facing north, west, east and south).

I think I found what I was talking about, by randomly clicking in one of those folders. Lets see if any of these will help...

 

They're VX style, but its pretty easy to make them work in XP, just add an extra frame.

wow thanks thats great. Havent tested em yet but while I'm here... has anyone got (or can anyone get) some Mario & Luigi-esque tilesets? And possibly some custom sprites of some of the partners from the Paper Mario games?

have you tried ripping the sprites yourself? ripping a sprite is actually REALLY easy, Just a matter of PRINT SCRN + Paste into PAIN + edit out everything BUT the sprite you intend to use.. piece of cake! :P it's just time consuming to do a LARGE amount of rips as you requested so that's probably why no one jumped the gun and said HEY HO LETS GO haha.

 

Although i disagree with how harsh a particular member has reacted to this post.. they do make a point.

 

When requesting things on RMXP forums (ALMOST ALL RMXP FORUMS) it helps to proove to the community you are going to be an active member before you even put up the simplest of requests, if you show your interest in the site, the site show's it's interest in your company. Simple as that really :P wish everyone could see it that way but nope we have the occasionaly "bots" as i like to call them -.- google up rmxp forums, then join each one requesting the same things everyhwere hoping to heck that at least 1 person will bite to do this, and 9/10 0 people bite unless they are particularly bored that day.. and i am not saying this out of dramatization, i am saying this out of realization. I am a spriter and i do fill random requests occasionally but i tend to fill valued members requests before i help a complete random.

whoa, sorry I haven't replied in so long. And my apologies for the request being so large, I just put in everything I could think of that I needed, but I guess I didn't think it through well enough xD. Anyway, thanks to everyone who has contributed. Including (from what I've seen) CrimsonInferno, thanks a lot for those tilesets, they are sure to be a great help in getting me started. I've been using Pokémon tilesets atm (xD) but your contribution is sure to spice up the maps. And also, thanks for the script, I shall try it out later. And thanks for the links. Wow, you're awesome xD
